Description: Covington High School is seeking a qualified applicant to join our life skills department.  CHS is proud to offer a wonderful Life Skills program, composed of caring staff.  The teacher who joins our team should be committed to helping students by offering support to overcome practical obstacles to their learning. 

The individual selected for this position will be expected to:

• Develop each student’s annual IEP and maintain it throughout the year
• Support students with their academic needs 
• Prepare lessons
• Respect students and treat them with compassion and understanding
• Supervise classes to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive environment
• Collaborate with school administrators, other teachers, and parents
• Establishing and maintaining a positive line of communication with the parents concerning behavior, language and academics
• Prepare and distribute progress reports, grade reports, and semester reports
• Schedule, attend, and prepare for case conference meetings
• Track growth data for your students and be ready to discuss the data with the case conference committee 
• Show commitment and professionalism through attendance, punctuality, and standards with professional responsibilities
• Maintain confidentiality
