    Covington High School Announcements

    • Seniors – go to Mrs. Coffing’s room to get your treat for winning the food drive-today during homeroom or last 10 minutes of lunch.
    • Students- if you do not have a parking permit, please see Officer Feazel as soon as possible. Her desk is in the High School Atrium. 
    • Any junior or senior interested in meeting with a representative from Ivy Tech on April 11th during homeroom needs to sign up on the google sheet shared by Mrs. Brown.
    • Cheer tryout packets are available in the office for the 2023-2024 season. Practices begin Monday, March 27th with tryouts on Friday, April 7th. Girls in grades 8-12 can sign up, and pick up a packet that includes more information and tasks to be completed before the first practice. Questions can be sent to Dottie at dottievollmer@gmail.com

    The 2022-23 CHS Yearbook is on sale now thru April 15th.  The cost is $50.  You may see Mr. Craig Sowers for an order form, or pick one up in the high school office.  You may also order online at yearbookforever.com

    ATTENTION 8TH GRADE GIRLS:
    Cheer tryout packets are available in the office for the 2023-2024 season. Practices begin Monday, March 27th with tryouts on Friday, April 7th. Girls in grades 8-12 can sign up, and pick up a packet that includes more information and tasks to be completed before the first practice. Questions can be sent to Dottie at dottievollmer@gmail.com

    Any 6th grade girl wanting to play volleyball this year needs to sign up and pick up a schedule in Mrs. Pettit’s room this week. The season will start after spring break on Tuesday March 28th.

    If you still want to sign up for middle school track, please get a paper from the office. Practices start after spring break. T-shirt forms are due by March 15th.

    IREAD 3:
    Second and Third grade students will be taking the IREAD 3 the week of March 6th. An informational letter was sent home the first week of February. Please contact the office or your child’s teacher if you have further questions. We are not concerned about this test and know that our students will do just fine if they take their time and do their best. We are very proud of our kiddos and the progress they make from year to year.

       Fannie May orders are due on Feb. 28th

    Parents please call the attendance line and report your child’s absence and reason for the absence.

    Transportation changes need to be sent to the child’s teacher via note.

    If your child is not a regular bus rider they will not be able to ride the bus for reasons such as sleepovers or birthday pirates. Due to limited space on the bus.

    Crossing Guards and Car Rider Doors will be available from 7:50-8:00 in the morning. After this time, please drive to the front of the building and drop off your child.

    Background Checks for field trips must be done before the day of the field trip. The process only takes one to two minutes and you will need your driver’s license. These background checks are good until the end of each semester. There is no cost to you.
