Description:  Covington High School is seeking a highly motivated athletic director.  

The individual selected for this position will be expected to:

• Schedule athletic events, officials, and transportation for all athletic events.
• Schedule the use of athletic facilities and communicate the schedule with all coaches and staff.
• Supervise all home athletic events. 
• Work closely with the athletic secretary in overseeing and monitoring financial reports for ticket sales, officials and workers pay, inventory, and sale of merchandise.
• Hire all workers for home athletic events (ticket sellers, concession workers, scorers, timers, scoreboard operators, announcers, etc.).
• Supervise and mentor coaching staff. 
• Provide coaching staff with a handbook on responsibilities, rules, regulations, and procedures.  Conduct an annual review of the handbook with the building principal. 
• Evaluate head coaches and share the evaluations with the building principal.
• Communicate with the Band Boosters and the Athletic Boosters to make sure concessions for home athletic events have plenty of workers, food, and drinks.
•  Develop a positive rapport with staff, students, administration, community members, and other important stakeholders. 
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.

The ideal candidate will:

• Possess a valid teaching license
• Have experience teaching, coaching, being an athletic director or administrator in a high school setting 
• Good attendance in previous or current position, strong communication skills, and willingness to work late evenings and weekends
• Model values reflective of the Covington Community School Corporation
