Covington High School Announcements

The track team opened their season against Seeger & BC. Congratulations to Bradley Lewsader on winning the high jump. Other notable performances include: Ashlyn Livengood placed 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles & 300 meter hurdles. Summer Krepton placed 3rd in the 100 & 200. Wyatt Woodrow, Kennedie Cadman, Andrew Boyd & Lexi Slider also scored points for the Trojans. The next meet is a home meet on Thursday with Attica & North Vermillion.

Attention current 9th, 10th and 11th grade students interested in trying out for the high school dance team. First mandatory practice will be held Saturday April 9th from 2p-4p at the MPR. Please grab a flier from the High Sschool office for more information!

Prom tickets are now on sale in the High School office. Prom is April 23rd and tickets are $35 per individual. There are 3 sign-up sheets in the office if you are interested in Laser Tag, a Dodgeball tournament, or an Escape Room. You are welcome to do all 3, but sign-ups must be completed by April 15th in order to create schedules. Questions? See Mrs. Taylor.

In an effort to minimize distraction and maximize class-time, the yearbook staff will be attempting to take all
club pictures TODAY during 4th hour with the possibility of spilling over into 5th hour.

The clubs we will be calling down for a picture include:

eSports Yearbook
If you are a sponsor of another club and would like to be recognized in the yearbook, please reach out to me so you can be added to the list.

  • If your club has a shirt, you may consider having your group wear them tomorrow.
    **Sponsors are welcome to appear in their club’s picture.

Now through April 14, the National Honor Society of Covington High School will be partnering with other Wabash River Valley schools Attica, Seeger, Parke Heritage, Riverton Parke, North Vermillion, and South Vermillion to raise funds for humanitarian aid for Ukrainian children and refugees. All proceeds collected will be sent to UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund). Donations can be made online at https://unicefusa.donorsupport.co/-/NSVERALT or in person at Juli’s Java, House with the Lions Antiques, Agave Azul, and Overpass Pizza in Covington.

All Covington Community Schools will be hosting a change/money drive during the same time period. Students will donate in their elementary classroom, middle and high school students will donate in their first period classes. All elementary donors will receive a sweet treat for donating. High school and middle school classes are competing for bragging rights and donuts. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated. Please help us make a difference

The NHS is collecting old blankets, towels, treats & toys for the animal shelter. You may drop off your donations to the High School office no later than Friday, April 11th. THANK YOU!

Senior Baby Pictures are due April 8th!! Please send your picture to: athleticboosters@covtrojans.org

The graduation program committee will meet Thursday, April 7 during Home Room in the Foods Room.
Hopefully we can finalize the program.
Seniors: If you have not picked up your graduation supplies from Josten’s, please see Miss Davis.
Please hang up your gown. The wrinkles will probably fall out. Make sure the gown fits properly. Talk to Miss Davis if there is a problem.
Seniors: If you need more announcements, Miss Davis has them for $ 1.15 each.

Ag Day and Safety Day are back. FFA members are needed to help as presenters and group leaders. If you are a senior, junior, or sophmore FFA member check your email and respond.

Mr. Morgan is offering Lifeguarding classes April 30th-May 1st at Attica High School. If anyone is interested please register with Mr. Morgan before April 8th. You must be 15 years old before May 1st.

The 2021-22 CHS Yearbook is on sale until April 30th. There will be very limited extra yearbooks ordered this year, so if you intend to purchase a yearbook, this may be your only opportunity. Grab a paper order form in the high school office, visit yearbookforever.com, or see Mr. Sowers in person to get your yearbook reserved today.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Any junior or senior interested in meeting with a representative from Lincoln Tech Monday, April 11th during homeroom needs to sign the google sheet Mrs. Brown shared with you.

Covington City Pool is looking for summer help! If you are interested in being a Lifeguard and/or working concessions, pick up an application in the High School office!

Parents: Please send in/email proof of residency for your student (if you haven’t already). Document must have your address and a current date on it. Examples are a current utility bill, telephone bill, tax return, medical bill or similar information that provides a verifiable address with a clearly identified
and readable date.
