Covington High School Announcements

• BOYS BASKETBALL CALLOUT – TODAY during Homeroom in the VARSITY GYM.

• GIRLS BASKETBALL CALLOUT– SEPTEMBER 14th during Homeroom in the COMMONS.

• Seeger is hosting a College and Skilled Trades Fair on Tuesday, September 26th from 6 – 8 pm in the PAC.  Tech/Trade Schools and 4-year colleges/universities will be in attendance.  Juniors and seniors, along with their parents, are invited to attend.

Any junior or senior interested in meeting with a representative from one of the following colleges needs to sign up on the google sheet Mrs. Brown shared with you – please check your email!

• Indiana State University – Tuesday, September 12th
• Depauw University – Thursday, September 14th

The boys soccer team defeated an athletic Danville Viking squad on Saturday 5-0.

Creux Rieman scored on a penalty kick at the 18th minute. Then, Kolten Haymaker had a header off of a throw-in from Creux Rieman at the 27th minute to end the half at 2 to 0.  Haymaker’s 2nd goal came on a breakaway at the 48th minute, and his hat trick (3rd goal) came from a beautiful cross from Gaven Jacobs at the 54th minute.   The final goal came from Asher Cadman who applied pressure to a drop pass to their keeper in the 64th minute.  It was a great team win with the defense holding strong and their rotation being fantastic. Every player also saw at least eight minutes of field time. Finally, Nash had a clean sheet with six saves. Nash played the last 10 minutes in the field as Haymaker took over the goal tending. Trojans go 6-0 for the season!

Their next contest is Friday, September 8th at the Cornjerker Classic in Hoopeston.  Game starts at 6:45pm ET.  They also play at 9am, 2:45 pm and 5pm on Saturday.
