Covington High School Announcements

Congratulations to the boys tennis team for winning the Bi-County tournament Saturday at Seeger.
Winner at #1 singles was Evan Norton. Winner at #2 singles was Calvin Springer. Winner at #1 doubles was Nolan Potter & Myles Potter.

The Covington girls golf team hosted the WRC on Saturday and finished in third place only two strokes out of second. They also had two members of the team make all conference congratulations to Briley Peyton and Sydni Crain. The team will compete at Attica (Harrison Hills Golf Course) on Saturday.

The volleyball team went 3-1 getting 3rd place at the Lafayette Harrison tournament Saturday. They beat Lowell, Mooresville, and Pioneer and lost to Benton Central.
Amber Cruser had 29 kills, 22 digs and 4 aces on the day.
Alex Sutherlin had 26 digs
Holly Linville had 19 kills
Emma Taylor had 21 digs and 3 aces
Karsyn Engle had 22 digs and 66 assists

The volleyball team is at home tonight vs Terre Haute South.

There will be a brief meeting at the beginning of homeroom in the Annex
on Tuesday for current FFA members.

There will be a yearbook callout meeting in Mr. Sowers’ room
today during homeroom. If you’re interested in helping create a lasting memory for yourself and your classmates, come to the meeting.

There will be an ESports meeting in Mr. Sowers’ room during homeroom Tuesday. Please have your permission forms filled out and ready to turn in at or before the meeting.

Any junior or senior interested in meeting with one of the following colleges need to sign up on the google sheet Mrs. Brown shared with you:

9/17 – Indiana State University
9/28 – Wabash College (guys only)
9/30 – Purdue University
10/8 – Ivy Tech
All meetings will be held during homeroom in the glass room.

The 30th annual Covington Apple Fest will be held on Saturday, September 25. Contestants are now being sought for the Queen Pageant. If you would like the opportunity to participate, contact Amy Thompson at 765.585.5945 or email her at amyjothompson18@gmail.com to receive a contestant packet for more information. Deadline to enter is September 11. This is a great opportunity to represent Fountain County.

The 2021 Covington Athletic Department Golf Scramble will be held on Sunday, September 19th at Rivercrest Golf Course @1:00 pm.
