Covington High School Announcements

Any student interested in filming tonight’s football game, please see Mr. Cross. He is needing 3 students.

Any student wanting to get involved in Student Council, check your email for information

All Juniors please meet in the MPR during Homeroom TODAY! You will be discussing Class Officers and Fall Homecoming.

All Seniors you will be meeting in the High School Gym TODAY! You will be discussing Class Officers and Fall Homecoming.

Juniors & Seniors:
We will be offering the IHSAA Sports Officiating 101 class beginning Tuesday, September 6th. The class will meet during homeroom with Mr. Morgan – the cost for the course is $30.00.

Students successfully completing this class will be eligible to earn an officiating license for athletic events grades 9 and lower.

The high school office is now selling snacks for $1 each. They have:
Doritos, Flamin hot cheetos, iced animal crackers, Muddy buddies, scooby cinnamon snacks, fruit snacks, whit cheddar popcorn, and chocolate tiger grahams.

High School picture day is Wednesday, September 14th. Seniors will need to get their picture taken for an ID card only. Doug’s Studio will come at a later date to take yearbook pictures.

Any junior or senior interested in meeting with a representative from one of the following colleges need to sign up on the google sheet that was shared with you. All visits will be in the glass room during homeroom.

10/3 – Depauw University
10/17 – Manchester University

Any Junior or Senior interested in going to the DACC College Fair on September 15, needs to sign the google sheet Mrs. Brown shared with you and pick up a permission slip in the guidance office. Must sign up by September 9th to attend.

The girls soccer team defeated the North Putnam Cougars last night 6-0. A dominant performance from Kenzie Gassaway saw her net 3 goals and provide 2 assists in just 60 minutes. Other goal scorers were Isabella Lynch and Haley Holycross, while Summer Krepton, Lexi Slider, and Emma Holycross provided a single assist each.

The girls golf team played Seeger last night in a dual meet. They improved their team score by 18 shots from Tuesday night, but fell to Seeger. Sydni Crain was medalist and Glennys McGurk finished fourth overall. They will be back in action on Tuesday.

The Covington boys tennis team defeated Attica last night 5-0 to improve their record to 8-2.
Varsity winners were Evan Norton, Urban Roarks, Aiden Miller, Myles Potter, Jackson Kindell, Emmett Reynolds, Carson Schaeffer.
