I am so excited to join you as we begin another school year! I hope each of you are finding time to relax and enjoy some family time. I anticipate the start of school just as much as the next person. This is the time of year where I walk up and down the school supply aisle trying to decide if I need a new ink pen or mechanical pencil. And, the student in me loves to smell Crayola crayons; something about that smell takes me back to my elementary years. I want to thank you in advance for entrusting our teachers, staff, and support staff with your precious gift, your child, each and every day of their school career. As educators, we take our job very seriously to ensure that your child receives an education to prepare them for the world of work in an environment that is safe and nurturing while providing the appropriate measure of fun and enthusiasm to generate excitement for education. We are here to serve you and our community. Please let us know if you see an area of need, either personally or within our school and neighborhoods. I know that our district reaches far and wide and that we provide education for a vast majority of Fountain County. Good morning CMS

Lunch today is Corn Dog, Broccoli and Cheese, Sidekick Slushy and Milk.

Breakfast tomorrow will be a variety of Breakfast Pizza.

The track team crossed the state line to take on some tough competition last night.  Everyone worked hard and competed well.  Preslei Lazzell remains undefeated in the 100 and 200, as well as the 4×100 relay team of Kayley Lewsader, Haley Rottmann, Sophia Scott-Musa, and Preslei Lazzell.  The track team will be at Seeger tomorrow for Bi-County.  Good luck!

The CMS Student Council is planning a food drive for the local food bank. This food drive will run May 6th – May 10th. Food should be brought to Mrs. Martin’s classroom. Names will be entered into a drawing for each item brought in (up to 5 entries).

toothbrushes The CMS Awards Program will take place on Thursday, May 23rd at 9:00am in the MPR. 

Students may be signed out by their parents at the conclusion of the program; however, students may not be signed out by anyone else. If your child is planning to leave with someone other than a parent, we are requiring a signed note (not a phone call) be sent in by Wednesday, May 22nd. 

*Before students leave on the 23rd, social studies projects must be turned in.

There will be a boys tennis callout on Friday May 3rd during lunch. 

All Middle School library books need to be returned by Friday, May 10th.  If you need a book to read after May 10th, you will have to borrow one from your teacher’s classroom or the public library.

Time is running out to order your yearbook! We accept cash, checks and online orders.  Make checks payable to Covington Middle School. Today is the last day for all orders.  Yearbooks will be delivered at the beginning of next school year.
