    Today
    ✴ There will be a wrestling call out Thursday, Oct. 22, in the wrestling room for any student
    interested in joining the wrestling team this year.
    ✴ The Covington Music Dept. Fall Concert will not happen tonight. It has been postponed at this
    time.
    ✴ The Homeroom Door Decorating Contest is still on!! We have, however, extended the deadline
    to November 24th with a broad theme of autumn/fall. Student Council members will vote for
    their favorite door, and the winning homeroom will receive a pizza lunch. Good luck!!

    REMINDERS

    School picture day is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28
    and picture retake day is Tuesday, January 12.

    After school homework help has begun. Student may stay after school on Monday (Mrs. Craft’s room), Tuesday (Mrs. Martin’s room), and Thursday (Mrs. Slider’s room) until 4:00.

    CES FRONT ENTRANCE IS CLOSED. PLEASE USE THE SOUTHWEST DOORS (walker line) WHEN DROPPING OFF OR PICKING UP STUDENTS DURING SCHOOL. OFFICER WEBER IS SET UP TO HELP WITH DIRECTING YOUR CHILDREN.
    WE STRONGLY URGE YOU TO USE THE CARLINE IN GETTING OR DROPPING OFF YOUR CHILD(REN) BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL.

    THE BOOK FAIR IS COMING! CES WILL HOST THE SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR OCTOBER 26 – OCTOBER 30. DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS, THE BOOK FAIR WILL ONLY BE OPEN TO SCHOOL CHILDREN DURING REGULAR SCHOOL HOURS.
    HOWEVER, THERE WILL BE AN ONLINE ORDERING OPTION THAT WILL BE POSTED ON OUR SCHOOL WEBSITE. NO HASSLE, FREE SHOPPING TO YOUR CHILD HERE AT SCHOOL. STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFO!

    TEXTBOOK RENTAL CAN BE PAID BY SENDING AN ENVELOPE WITH YOUR CHILD OR THROUGH HARMONY3 ON OUR SCHOOL WEBSITE.

    ABSENCES—–PLEASE CALL AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE, BEFORE 9A.M. 765-793-2254. USING THE PROMPTS #3 FOR CES THEN #1 TO LEAVE A DETAILED MESSAGE FOR NURSE PINKERTON. PLEASE INCLUDE… CHILD’S SYMPTOMS AND WHETHER THEY HAVE A FEVER OVER 100.4. USING THIS PROCEDURE WILL SAVE MANY PHONE CALLS BACK AND FORTH TO FIND OUT THIS INFORMATION. THIS CAN BE DONE AT ANYTIME DAY/NIGHT – THE EARLIER THE PARENT CALLS WILL GIVE THE NURSE TIME TO MAKE DECISIONS. THANK YOU!

    BREAKFAST/LUNCH PRICES HAVE CHANGED SINCE LAST YEAR:
    Student breakfast $1.50, Student reduced .30, Adult Breakfast $1.85…..Student lunch $2.35, Student reduced .40, Adult Lunch $3.75 Extra Milk .50
    School begins at 8:05a.m. and will release students at 2:55p.m.
    Every Wednesday students will be dismissed early at 2:25p.m.
    PLEASE LET YOUR CHILD(S) TEACHER KNOW IF THEY ARE TO HAVE BREAKFAST AT SCHOOL.

    *Due to social distancing protocols, the doors will remained locked until 7:45am. Students will not be allowed in the building prior to this time! Once inside the building, students are asked to report directly to their classroom.

    CROSSING GUARDS AND CAR RIDER DOORS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 7:50 – 8:00 IN THE MORNING. After this time, please drive around to the front of the building to drop off your child for school.

    TRANSPORTATION CHANGES NEED TO BE SENT TO THE CHILD’S TEACHER. WE WILL NOT ALLOW STUDENTS TO CHANGE HIS/HER REGULAR ROUTINE WITHOUT A NOTE OR PHONE CALL TO THE OFFICE. THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD/REN. DUE TO LIMITED SPACE, IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT A REGULAR BUS RIDER HE/SHE WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RIDE THE BUS FOR REASONS SUCH AS SLEEPOVERS OR BIRTHDAY PARTIES, ETC.

    ONLY NECESSARY VISITORS WILL BE PERMITTED INTO THE BUILDING. PLEASE RING THE BUZZER AT THE FRONT OFFICE. THANK YOU!

    TREATS BROUGHT IN FOR THE STUDENTS NEED TO BE PRE-PACKAGED FROM A STORE. PLEASE REMEMBER FOR PROTOCOL THE TREATS MUST SIT IN THE OFFICE FOR 2 DAYS BEFORE GIVING TO THE CLASSROOM.

    The Covington United Methodist Church is coordinating the 2020 Community Winter Coat Give-A-Way that will take place on Tuesday, October 13th through Friday, October 16th at the Fountain County Courthouse from 8:30am to 3:00pm each day or while supplies last. In order to support their efforts, the Covington Community School Corporation will be collecting coats on Wednesday, Sept. 23 through Friday, Sept 25. The collection box will be positioned on the back patio of the former Administration Office (the white house) located at 1022 6th Street.
