Covington High School Announcements
Tuesday, February 2nd, during homerooms – all sophomores will attend a program on Careers Technical Education Classes available for next year. Any junior wanting to attend should see Mrs. Myers ASAP.
This year’s blood drive will be March 10th in the middle school gym.
Students may check the lists on the guidance office window for Honor Jacket, chevron, and honor pin award winners. If you think you earned an award and you are not listed, please check with Mrs. Myers or Mrs. Brown.

Any junior planning on attending a 4-year college/university should plan on taking the SAT. We will be offering the SAT on the morning of Wednesday, March 3rd. Interested juniors should sign-up on the Google Sheet (titled “SAT School Day) that was shared with you. The cost is $52 – the deadline for signing up and paying is January 28th.

The 7th & 8th grade boys basketball teams finished their seasons last night at South Vermillion. The 7th grade defeated South Vermillion to finish the season with a record of 10-2. The 8th grade lost a hard fought game to finish their season 11-1. Congratulations to all players on a successful season!

ABSENCES—–PLEASE CALL AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE, BEFORE 9A.M. 765-793-2254. USING THE PROMPTS #3 FOR CES THEN #1 TO LEAVE A DETAILED MESSAGE FOR NURSE PINKERTON. PLEASE INCLUDE… CHILD’S SYMPTOMS AND WHETHER THEY HAVE A FEVER OVER 100.4. USING THIS PROCEDURE WILL SAVE MANY PHONE CALLS BACK AND FORTH TO FIND OUT THIS INFORMATION. THIS CAN BE DONE AT ANYTIME DAY/NIGHT – THE EARLIER THE PARENT CALLS WILL GIVE THE NURSE TIME TO MAKE DECISIONS. THANK YOU!

*Due to social distancing protocols, the doors will remained locked until 7:45am. Students will not be allowed in the building prior to this time! Once inside the building, students are asked to report directly to their classroom.
CROSSING GUARDS AND CAR RIDER DOORS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 7:50 – 8:00 IN THE MORNING. After this time, please drive around to the front of the building to drop off your child for school.
TRANSPORTATION CHANGES NEED TO BE SENT TO THE CHILD’S TEACHER. WE WILL NOT ALLOW STUDENTS TO CHANGE HIS/HER REGULAR ROUTINE WITHOUT A NOTE OR PHONE CALL TO THE OFFICE. THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD/REN. DUE TO LIMITED SPACE, IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT A REGULAR BUS RIDER HE/SHE WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RIDE THE BUS FOR REASONS SUCH AS SLEEPOVERS OR BIRTHDAY PARTIES, ETC.
TREATS BROUGHT IN FOR THE STUDENTS NEED TO BE PRE-PACKAGED FROM A STORE. PLEASE REMEMBER FOR PROTOCOL THE TREATS MUST SIT IN THE OFFICE FOR 2 DAYS BEFORE GIVING TO THE CLASSROOM.
