There will be a Winter Guard call-out meeting for any high school student interested on Tuesday,
November 19 during Homeroom in the choir room.
Wrestling nears a full squad! We only need 1 more athlete to make a full team which hasn’t happened in many years. We need a 132 pounder. If you weigh anywhere from 125 – 135, we could sure use you on the team. Practices are at 3:30pm after school.
Josten’s will be here on Tuesday, November 26 to deliver class rings and take orders from Seniors for graduation. They will be in the student lounge from 11:00 to 12:30.
Coach Ballard is providing a link to the online store for Covington Basketball. This store will be open through November 17. All items should be delivered to your home in time for Christmas. Thank you in advance for supporting the Covington Boys Basketball Team!
The Salvation Army is in need of students to sign up to be Bell Ringers for the Red Kettle Christmas campaign. Students should check the school website for a link to sign up. Or you may call Sara Wheeler at 765-366-6609.
Covington High School 2020 yearbooks are now on sale. Cost is $45.00. Price increases to $50.00
on November 26, 2019. You may pick up an order form in the high school office or order online
at yearbookforever.com. Deadline date to order is March 20, 2020.
The 2019 Yearbooks have arrived. Graduates may pick them up from Mrs. Gee.

After school snacks for high school fall athletes will be handed out in the
Student lounge Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week.
The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats. Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter coats.
The SAT will be offered the morning of Wednesday, March 4th. Any junior or senior interested in taking the test should sign-up in the guidance office. The deadline for signing up and payment is January 29th. The cost is $49.50 (checks payable to Covington High School) – checks should be given to Mrs. Linville. A limited number of fee waivers (cost will still be $8) are available for students who qualify. Students should see Mrs. Myers to request a fee waiver.
Any student wanting to discuss a possible schedule change for 2nd semester should see Mrs. Myers ASAP. The deadline for changes is Friday, December 13th. Parent permission will be required for most schedule changes.

CMS Fall Dance will be Friday, Nov. 22 from 7:00-9:00 pm in the MPR. Tickets will be on sale beginning tomorrow (Friday) in the 6th grade hallway. Tickets are $5. Tickets will be sold at the door for $6. Dress is casual. Bring extra money for concessions and photo booth.
Science fair has been rescheduled for today. Doors open to the MPR at 5:30, and winners will be announced starting at 6:00.
Winter Guard call-out meeting for any 8th graders interested. Tuesday, November 19th during Target Time in the choir room.
Mrs. Short will be selling candy outside of her room every Friday before Target time. All proceeds go to the CMS Honor Society. All candy is $1.00.
Students: You are not allowed to stop at your lockers first thing in the morning unless you have permission from the office.

CROSSING GUARDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 7:45 – 8:00 IN THE MORNING. If you arrive at school after this time, please drive around to the front of the building to drop your child off for school. Car line and Walker doors are locked after 8:05a.m.

BACKGROUND CHECKS for parents wanting to go on field trips can be obtained through the school website under the Superintendent’s tab. There is a fee for the process. Background checks are good for 2 years.
