Covington High School Announcements
The Covington Music Department will present “A Holiday Celebration” on Wednesday, December 18 at 7:00 pm in the MPR. It will feature the CMS Band, CHS Choir and CHS Symphonic Band.
The girls JV basketball bi-county scheduled for this Saturday has been cancelled.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be caroling Monday evening December 16 at 5:30 pm. Anyone that can go should meet at Coach Field’s home at 5:30.
There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes 5th quarter this coming Friday night after the boys basketball game in the MPR. All high school and middle school students are invited.
Pep Band Spirit Wear – on sale now through tomorrow . Order forms are in the office.
Crazies themes for this week’s basketball games are: Friday, December 13th: Christmas
Friday December 13th, there will be a bake sale at the boys home basketball game. All proceeds will go to After Prom.
The Anchors Program will be starting in January. Any Senior or Junior interested in attending should see Coach Field for details.
All sophomores will attend a Career Technical Education presentation at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 12th. Any junior interested in attending should let Mrs. Myers know by the end of the day on Wednesday, December 11th.
The Salvation Army is in need of students to sign up to be Bell Ringers for the Red Kettle Christmas campaign. Students should check the school website for a link to sign up. Or you may call Sara Wheeler at 765-366-6609.
Covington High School 2020 yearbooks are now on sale. Cost is $45.00. Price increases to $50.00
on November 26, 2019. You may pick up an order form in the high school office or order online
at yearbookforever.com. Deadline date to order is March 20, 2020.

The SAT will be offered the morning of Wednesday, March 4th. Any junior or senior interested in taking the test should sign-up in the guidance office. The deadline for signing up and payment is January 29th. The cost is $49.50 (checks payable to Covington High School) – checks should be given to Mrs. Linville. A limited number of fee waivers (cost will still be $8) are available for students who qualify. Students should see Mrs. Myers to request a fee waiver.
Any student wanting to discuss a possible schedule change for 2nd semester should see Mrs. Myers ASAP. The deadline for changes is Friday, December 13th. Parent permission will be required for most schedule changes.

The Covington Tektons Coat Drive Committee will be holding a school-wide coat drive THIS WEEK! Our goal is to collect 50 coats, and if we reach this amount, we will have a pajama day on Monday, December 16. Help spread your love and donate a coat!

CROSSING GUARDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 7:45 – 8:00 IN THE MORNING. If you arrive at school after this time, please drive around to the front of the building to drop your child off for school. Car line and Walker doors are locked after 8:05a.m.

BACKGROUND CHECKS for parents wanting to go on field trips can be obtained through the school website under the Superintendent’s tab. There is a fee for the process. Background checks are good for 2 years.
THE WINTER SEASON IS UPON US. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD IS WEARING A WINTER COAT TO SCHOOL. IF HE/SHE DOES NOT HAVE A WINTER COAT AND IS IN NEED, PLEASE NOTIFY THE OFFICE. IN ADDITION, CHILDREN WEARING SHORTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO OUTSIDE FOR RECESS UNLESS THEY HAVE A PAIR OF PANTS TO PUT OVER THEIR SHORTS.
