    Congratulations to the cross country team for their performance in near freezing temps on Saturday in the Benton Central Sectional. Congratulations to Bailey Duncan, Reese Noble, Blake Bova, and Elliot Crawford as they advance to next Saturday’s Regional meet at Benton Central.

    The Covington and Fountain Central Music Departments are having their 2nd Annual “Pack the House” night with the Danville Dashers on November 8th. Watch the Danville Dashers take on the Danbury Titans all while supporting your music department! Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased from Mrs. Gee at the front desk!.

    Covington High School 2020 yearbooks are now on sale. Cost is $45.00. Price increases to $50.00
    on November 26, 2019. You may pick up an order form in the high school office or order online
    at yearbookforever.com. Deadline date to order is March 20, 2020.

    This Month

    4-H Jr Leader Kickoff on Monday October 14th at 6:30 pm will be held at the Fountain County Fairgrounds.

    The academic juniors are hosting a Parents’ Night Out, Kids’ Night In fun night to raise money for the Gettysburg trip! The activity night is for grades k-5 and will be on Saturday, October 19th
    from 6:00-8:30 P.M. Sign your child in at 5:45 at the atrium entrance. Join the high schoolers for a night filled with games, snacks, and fun! The cost is $10 per student.

    FOUNTAIN COUNTY 4-H ENROLLMENT
    It’s here! 4-H enrollment has officially started for the 2020 fair year, and we want you to be a part of it.
    Getting enrolled is simple! Just sign up using the link below, and watch as your child becomes part of a life changing organization. The 4-H program prides itself on teaching your child responsibility and hard work while also building and contributing to our community. All of this is in addition to the memories and lasting friendships your child will make along the way.
    So which 4-H program is right for your kiddo? Fountain County Mighty Mini 4-H is open to all kids currently enrolled in 1st & 2nd grades. Regular 4-H is open to all kids currently enrolled in 3rd thru 12th grades. We offer over 50 different projects for kids to choose from ranging from model rockets and cake decorating to legos and arts and crafts. With a wide array of projects there is literally something for everyone, and we at the Extension Office (765-793-6240) would be happy to go through all the projects that we offer to see what is the best fit for your kiddo.
    If you are interested in joining or rejoining Fountain County 4-H or Mighty Mini 4-H then you will need to sign up through https:/in.4honline.com. If you need assistance setting up a new family profile or if you lost your old password, please either call the Extension Office or email Laura (lswillia@purdue.edu) and we will be happy to assist you through this process! Want to make your 4-H enrollment even more fun? Have your child grab a friend to sign up with and watch them discover together what Fountain County 4-H is all about!.

    There is a Registration Form in the office for the Halloween Hustle 5K/10K on Saturday, October
    26 at 9:00 am at the Covington Circle Trail.

    The 2019 Yearbooks have arrived. Graduates may pick them up from Mrs. Gee.
    There several 2019 yearbooks left for purchase. If you would like to purchase
    one the cost is $50.00.

    After school snacks for high school fall athletes will be handed out in the
    Student lounge Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week.

    The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
    sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
    As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
    through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
    Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
    (EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter
    Coats.

    Guidance:

    Sophomores and juniors will be taking the PSAT the morning of Wednesday, October 30.

    Any junior or senior interested in meeting with a representative from one of the following college should sign up on the google sheet that was shared with you from Mrs. Brown.

    CROSSING GUARDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 7:45 – 8:00 IN THE MORNING. If you arrive at school after this time, please drive around to the front of the building to drop your child off for school. Car line and Walker doors are locked after 8:05a.m.

    BIRTH CERTIFICATES AND SHOT RECORDS are due in the office ASAP!

    REGISTRATION FORMS for the PK 4 year old class at CES are available. Students must be 4 years of age on or before August 1st.

    TRANSPORTATION CHANGES NEED TO BE SENT TO THE CHILD’S TEACHER. WE WILL NOT ALLOW STUDENTS TO CHANGE HIS/HER REGULAR ROUTINE WITHOUT A NOTE OR PHONE CALL TO THE OFFICE. THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD/REN.

    COVINGTON SKILL BUILDERS CLINIC… Program is for both girls and boys in Kindergarten to 5th grade and will begin October 21 – December 16 on every Monday from 7:00-7:50pm.
    Each clinic session will be held in the Covington Elementary School gym. Skill Builders recogntition night will be Friday, October 11th. Forms were sent home earlier in the week.
