    Covington High School Announcements

    We have more Regional Tickets for sale. See Mrs. Linville in the high school office.

    Regional Basketball tickets are on sale in the high school office. Tickets are $10.00 for an All-Session ticket. Single session tickets are $8.00 at the door and will not be for presale at the school.
    First come – first serve.

    Dress up days for Regional week are:
    Friday: Crazy Black and Gold

    The indoor golf NETGAIN will not be in session the rest of this week. First HS golf practice starts Monday, March 16 at 3:30 pm at Rivercrest. All team players be there ready to practice. Make sure you have an athletic physical on file in the office.

    Students that plan to bring a prom guest from a different school -stop by the office to get permission slips.

    REMINDERS

    Please remember to check your lunch balance in Harmony. If you are in the minus NO extras or seconds. If your balance is over -$15.00, you will be given an alternate lunch, which includes a PB&J with a vegetable, fruit & milk.

    The date for the Prom is Saturday, April 25 at the Beef House from 7:00 to 11:00 pm.

    Covington High School 2020 yearbooks are now on sale. Cost is $50.00 You may pick up an order form in the high school office or order online at yearbookforever.com. Deadline date to order is March 20, 2020.

    The 2019 Yearbooks have arrived. Graduates may pick them up from Mrs. Gee.
    There several 2019 yearbooks left for purchase. If you would like to purchase
    one the cost is $50.00.

    Guidance:

    This a reminder that any student wanting to apply for the first year of a vocational class OR continue with the 2nd year MUST complete an application ASAP. The site for the application has changed:

    click on the “Forms & Applications” at the top
    select the Attica/Covington/Fountain Central/Seeger Application

    The U.S. Census Bureau is looking to hire locally to help with the 2020 Census (part-time and full time jobs available). You must be at least 18, have a valid Social Security number and be a U.S. citizen. See Mrs. Myers or Mr. Ballard for more information, or go to 2020census.gov/jobs.

    E-Learning Day – No School

    REMINDERS:

    Indoor golf NETGAIN in the Annex will not be in session this week or next. Middle School golfers who plan on playing golf this spring will have their first official practice on Monday, Mar. 30th, at Rivercrest from 3:30-5:00 pm. Come ready to practice. Make sure you have your athletic physicals completed and on file in the office.

    FOOD DRIVE — 3/9-3/18
    The Tektons have organized a Food Drive — Now through next Wednesday

    Collection bins will be located in every middle school language classroom .
    The goal is for all grades need to bring in at least 125 boxed or canned items, but if you can bring in more that would be great!
    Lastly, there will be a special surprise for the grade that reaches the most canned/ boxed foods

    8th Grade — The 8th grade field trip to Twin Lakes is April 6 & 7. The cost of the trip is $60.00 and is paid through your beef raffle ticket sales. If you sold all your assigned raffle tickets over the years, your trip is covered. There are several students who did not meet their sales goals. Please check with Mrs. Booe to see if any money is still owed toward your trip.

    Any student who is 15 years old or will turn 15 soon is eligible for driver’s education. You can sign up at anytime at www.tenandtwodriving.com or by contacting Mr. Smaltz in the high school.

    There will be a Hunter Safety Class on March 27th from 5-9pm and March 28th from 8am-3pm at the Fountain County 4H building. You can find more information and sign up for the event through the Fountain County 4H Shooting Sports Group on Facebook.

    CROSSING GUARDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 7:45 – 8:00 IN THE MORNING. If you arrive at school after this time, please drive around to the front of the building to drop your child off for school. Car line and Walker doors are locked after 8:05a.m.

    TRANSPORTATION CHANGES NEED TO BE SENT TO THE CHILD’S TEACHER. WE WILL NOT ALLOW STUDENTS TO CHANGE HIS/HER REGULAR ROUTINE WITHOUT A NOTE OR PHONE CALL TO THE OFFICE. THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD/REN.

    BACKGROUND CHECKS for parents wanting to go on field trips can be obtained through the school website under the Superintendent’s tab. There is a fee for the process. Background checks are good for 2 years.

    THE WINTER SEASON IS UPON US. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD IS WEARING A WINTER COAT TO SCHOOL. IF HE/SHE DOES NOT HAVE A WINTER COAT AND IS IN NEED, PLEASE NOTIFY THE OFFICE. IN ADDITION, CHILDREN WEARING SHORTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO OUTSIDE FOR RECESS UNLESS THEY HAVE A PAIR OF PANTS TO PUT OVER THEIR SHORTS.

    CES WILL BE COLLECTING BROKEN OR UNWANTED CRAYONS FOR RECYLING. THANK YOU!

    INDIANA HUNTER EDUCATION CLASSES…There will be a meeting on Friday, March 27, 2020 from 5:00pm – 9:00pm and Saturday, March 28, 2020 from 8:00am – 3:00pm at the Fountain County 4-H building on Highway 136 Veedersburg. You can also register online @ www.hunter-ed.com
