Covington High School Announcements

Athletes who believe they will have enough points for a letter jacket at the end of the Winter Sports season should see Mrs. Gee by Tuesday, January 22.

Yearbook Staff, if you’re available, please meet in Mr. Sowers room during homeroom today.

Next week will be Champions Together Week. We will have the following dress-up days:

Monday- Black Out Day: Black out the R word

Tuesday- Yearbook Day: Wear a white shirt and carry a sharpie for people to sign

Wednesday- Twin Day: We are all one in the same

Thursday- American Day: We all have the freedom to be ourselves

Friday- Black and Gold Day- Trojans stand together for inclusiveness

The prom committee will be meeting in Mrs. Cotton’s classroom during homeroom Monday, January 21.

Boy’s golf meeting is Wednesday, January 23, at 11:20 in the HS library.

Students may check the lists on the guidance office window for Honor Jacket, chevron, and honor pin award winners. If you think you earned an award and you are not listed, please check with Mrs. Myers or Mrs. Brown.

Measuring for Honor Jackets will be Thursday, January 24th. Please check the guidance office window to see if you earned a jacket. Students will also be emailed a reminder.

Any student interested in taking the driving portion of drivers ed here this summer, please sign up in the guidance office. You must be 15 by April 26th to enroll.

Snacks will be available after school every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for any Winter athlete who would like one. They will be passed out in the hallway by the locker rooms from 3:00 to 3:05pm.

Baseball workouts every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 pm. Players need to meet outside the training room.

2018/2019 yearbooks are on sale. You can either visit yearbookforever.com or see Mr. Sowers for a paper order form.

Guidance:

Sophomores interested in Career Technical/Vocational Programs for next year – please complete the survey ASAP that Mrs. Myers emailed you on November 29th.

Juniors interested in Career Technical/Vocational Programs for next year – please complete the application that Mrs. Myers emailed you on November 29th.

The 2019-2020 FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) is now open. Any senior planning on continuing their education after high school should plan on filing the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Today is the last day to claim any item you may have lost throughout the school year. Check out the lost and found table before you leave school today. All items not claimed will be donated to a local charity.

The CHS Dance Team Winter Clinic scheduled for this Saturday, Jan 19th has been postponed to the following Saturday, Jan 26th. With the weather forecast for Saturday, we thought it was best to go ahead and reschedule. The girls will still perform during JV halftime on the 26th.
