    CHS Graduation – Free Live Stream
    “CLASS OF 2022”
    Covington High School will be live streaming the Saturday, May 28th, 2022 student graduation. The event will be free. Viewers will not need a subscription to NFHS (broadcasting network). Live streaming will begin at 5:50pm with the graduation ceremony beginning at 6:00pm.

    Congratulations to Karsyn Engle and Emma Taylor for winning their semi-finals match against Northview last night 6-0, 6-1 in the individual sectional. They play tonight in the individual sectional doubles final at Crawfordsville. The winner goes to Kokomo on June 11 to play in the individual doubles Regional. Good luck girls!!

    STUDENTS: TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO PICK UP LOST & FOUND ITEMS ON THE TABLE IN FRONT OF THE OFFICE IN THE COMMONS. IF YOU HAVE LOST ANYTHING DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, PLEASE CHECK THE TABLE TO SEE IF IT WAS TURNED IN! ALSO -THERE ARE SEVERAL RINGS, EARRINGS, AND KEYS LEFT IN THE OFFICE.     Any student wanting/needing to take summer school for credit recovery should see Mrs. Myers ASAP. Summer school begins on Tuesday, May 31st and ends Thursday, June 16th.

     HIRING:

    Steel Grip is hiring for the summer; applicants must be 18 years old. If interested, contact Jason Beck at 765-585-2080.
    Covington City Pool is looking for summer help! If you are interested in being a Lifeguard and/or working concessions, pick up an application in the High School office!
    Shelton’s Fireworks will be hiring 16 year old’s and up to work for the upcoming Fourth of July season(June 1st- July 4th). Pay will be $12 an hour with the opportunity for overtime closer to the 4th of July. Students may pick up an application at any time at Shelton’s.
    McDonald’s is hiring for various positions – – You may apply via text by sending Code IN442 to 38000.

    Attention girls signed up for middle school cheer next season. Please note the change of date for mock tryouts. They will now be Wednesday, June 8th.

    ATTENTION STUDENTS:
    Be sure to check the lost and found box for items that you may have misplaced throughout the school year. Box is located in the hallway next to the pencil and paper machine. Items left at the end of the year will be discarded.

    Covington Summer Tennis Camp 2022:
    If you are interested in attending tennis camp this year…stop by the office to pick up a registration form. Camp dates are Monday, June 13th – Thursday, June 16th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.

    Fifth Annual Street Festival:

    CHS Cheer and CHS Dance Team will be participating as vendors for face painting, etc. The Dance Team will also be involved with the pies, and we’re super hopeful our dino dashers, from CCSC faculty, will be back in action, too!

    Danville Area Community College is sponsoring a College For Kids Camp in June and July. Please stop by the office to pick up a flyer if you are interested.

    All current 7th and 8th grade students who are interested in a career in law enforcement, Indiana Sheriffs Association is hosting a Leadership Camp at Pine Creek Campgrounds on June 13th through June 16th or Waycross Episcopal Camp on June 28th through June 30th. If you would like an application they will be posted in the office, for additional information contact Mrs. Young.

    Early on-line registration for both Kindergarten and PreK, for the 2022-2023 school year, is now open on the corporation website @ www.covington.k12.in.us

    PreK only has openings for the p.m. class. The morning class is full.

    CES will be housing the Developmental PreK for Fountain County beginning August of 2022. Please help me in welcoming Mrs. Ashlie Grissom to this new role. This program will support the academic needs of the 3 and 4 year old special education students in our county.

    We need your Proof of Residency; this is being required by the State of Indiana. Please bring in a document (ex: utility, cell phone, hospital bill) with your current address and dated within 60 days, you may also send it in with your child.
    We also need a Birth Certificate, it may be one they give you from the hospital.

    If your child has congestion, runny nose, cough, sore throat, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or headache please do NOT send them to school. They will be sent home. Please plan a minimum of 48 hours and then call the attendance line with a full report before sending them back to school. The attendance line may be utilized 24/7. Thank you for your cooperation.     CROSSING GUARDS AND CAR RIDER DOORS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 7:50 – 8:00 IN THE MORNING. After this time, please drive around to the front of the building to drop off your child for school.

    Covington Swim Club is preparing for another great summer. We are a local club for ages 4-14 with all practices and meets taking place at the Covington City Pool.
