Covington High School Announcements

Today

All seniors involved in the senior play should meet in Mrs. Willis’s room today during home room.

Students who are attending the Prom on Saturday night should report to the Varsity Gym today at 11:45.
You will be dismissed by the intercom.

After Prom Buses will be parked on 5th Street by the varsity gym and across from the student parking lot. You should arrive by 11:40 pm. Buses will return to the school by 4:00 am.

There are Doug’s Studio Prom Picture order forms and a timeline of events information sheet in the office.

Please stop by and pick one up today before you leave.

Today all seniors will attend a Career Fair at Fountain Central. They will leave at approximately 1:05 and return by 2:45.

All students should check their email and complete a survey sent from Mrs. Myers.

All seniors should check their emails to vote for Senior Class Bests. Voting ends today at 3:00.

Prom is this Saturday, April 20th.

Grand March is in the MPR starting at 6:00. Students need to be here by 5:30 and enter through the MS doors and go to the cafeteria. Public will enter through HS doors.

Prom is from 7:00 to 11:00 at the Beef House Banquet Center with doors opening at 6:45. Coronation will take place at 10:30.

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!!

Covington Crazy Clovers 4-H Club will have a meeting at 6:00 pm on Monday, April 22 in Miss Davis’s Room.

Seniors: If you need more graduation announcements, see Miss Davis. Cost is $1.10 each.

The senior play will be performed on April 27 in the MPR at 7:00. Admission is 3.00 per person

Dinner tickets for the final music department concert of the school year are on sale until Wednesday, April 17th. Tickets are $8. If you’d like to attend only the concert, admission is free and doors will open at 6:40 for the concert portion of the evening.

Seniors not involved in other activities should plan to meet in Mrs. Willis’s room during Home Room. On Monday and Thursday, Act 1 and on Tuesday and Friday Act II. Please try to attend.

This Month

Snacks will be available after school every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for any Spring Sports athlete who would like one. They will be passed out in the hallway by the locker rooms from 3:00 to 3:05pm.

Any student interested in taking the driving portion of drivers ed here this summer, please sign up in the guidance office. You must be 15 by April 26th to enroll.

2018/2019 yearbooks are on sale. You can either visit yearbookforever.com or see Mr. Sowers for a paper order form.

Guidance:

The 2019-2020 FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) is now open. Any senior planning on continuing their education after high school should plan on filing the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov

A survey was just sent out to CMS students. Your input is needed — Please take a few minutes to complete the survey.

REMINDERS:

A summer camp will be offered to 7th and 8th grade students interested in a future career in Law Enforcement. If you are interested, applications are in the office.

Students, be sure to check you email everyday so you do not miss important information that may not be in the daily announcements.

7th and 8th Grade — This is your time to apply for a scholarship that could pay up to 4 years of tuition to an eligible Indiana college/university. See Mrs. Girdler for assistance.

NO SCHOOL FRIDAY, APRIL 19

ILEARN will begin April 22 for 1st – 5th grades. Please make sure your child goes to bed early and eats a healthy breakfast. Students need to be in their seats at 8:05 and ready to test.

TEACHER REQUESTS FOR THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR WILL NEED TO BE TURNED INTO THE CES OFFICE BY NO LATER THAN MAY 1ST. THIS MUST BE AN EDUCATIONAL REASON AND MUST BE IN WRITING. REQUESTS ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY GRANTED BUT WILL BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION.

Anyone interested in becoming a PTO officer for the 2019-20 school year, please call the CES office.

BOX TOP COMPETITION WILL BEGIN APRIL 22 – MAY 3. PLEASE BE SURE AND SEND THEM IN A BAGGIE WITH THE TEACHER’S NAME ON IT.

COVINGTON ELEMENTARY ART SHOW WILL BE FRIDAY, MAY 3 FROM 4:00 – 6:00PM. FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE WELCOME TO LISTEN TO MUSIC AND THEN WALK THE HALLS TO SEE STUDENTS ART WORK DISPLAYED. BELOW ARE THE FUN THINGS THAT WILL GOING ON THAT EVENING:
