To: Students, Parents, and School – Community Members Fr: Kevin Smith, Superintendent
In keeping with our commitment to provide a safe and secure learning environment, the following guidelines will be deployed for the upcoming school year, regarding the use of backpacks within the educational facilities:
At the elementary school, clear backpacks and bags are the only approved type.
Note: Individuals with concerns about being able to provide a clear backpack or bag are encouraged to contact the elementary school office. Our team is prepared to assist you.
At the high school and middle school, students are to keep backpacks and bags contained in their locker, beginning with their arrival on the respective campus, through the end of the school day. For the following year these facilities will be moving to the same policy adopted for the elementary school, with clear backpacks and bags being the only approved type.
Note: It is recognized that high school and middle school students currently have a heavy workload to carry, in particular when one considers the number of textbooks and technology device that they are required to utilize on a daily basis. With this in mind, one of our priorities – of – focus for the upcoming year is to work to identify how we might reduce the amount of items they are required to physically carry with them.
Thank you for your support of our children and staff.
