Re: New School Year

With the new school year now four (4) days old I wanted·to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their focused commitment to ensure a positive launch on behalf of our children. Parents, it is my hope that your child experienced a successful beginning in the next phase of their educational growth and development.

The opening day of school brought with it much change for our school corporation, with students meeting new instructors, while at the same time reconnecting with returning educators. Further, the new year has brought new curriculum opportunities for our children in each of the three educational facilities.

In order to receive information, as well as to follow the happenings, across our corporation this year, we will be utilizing a number of communication and social media resources. These will include:

• Twitter (@ccsctrojansl)
• School Messenger
• Remind
• Facebook
• Corporation Web Site {

The successes of our children, staff, and school – community will be promoted through the above resources as the year progresses. During the winter we will utilize the above communication tools to inform our school – community of the status of our operating schedules.

I will also be engaging the Superintendent’s Advisory Council again this year. Through participation with the SAC school – community members have an opportunity to collaborate on a number of items related to CCSC. While more information will be provided, our first meeting will be on Thursday, August 15, 2019, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the elementary school conference room.

For the awareness of all, a change has been made in how we will manage our Wednesday operating schedules, in the event of a two – hour delay this year. If the need to delay the start of school occurs, on a Wednesday, the early release schedule will be cancelled. Stated another way, if a two – hour delay is deemed appropriate, on any Wednesday during the school year, the end-of-day dismissal times will revert to their regular schedules – 2:55 p.m. at the elementary school and 3:00 p.m. at the high school and middle school. This change has been made in order to provide additional time for classroom instruction and student learning.

May this school year be the best ever for our children, parents, staff, and school – community.

Thank you for all you do on behalf of our children.

Please feel free to contact me anytime I may be of assistance.
