THE CHS ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT COLT TICKETS RAFFLE IS GOING ON NOW! TICKETS ARE $5.00 EACH AND CAN BE PURCHASED FROM ANY CHS FALL, WINTER, OR SPRING ATHLETE. WITH EACH TICKET PURCHASED, YOU HAVE 8 CHANGES TO WIN. PRIZES ARE AS FOLLOW:
1st Prize – 2 Colts Tickets to the November 10th game (over $300 value)
2nd Prize – Family all-sports pass ($170 value)
3rd/4th Prize – $150 each
5th/6th Prize – $50 each
7th/8th Prize – CHS Stadium Blanket ($25 value)
Drawing will be October 25th.
GRANDPARENTS DAY WILL BE MONDAY, OCTOBER 14. ITENERARY FOR THE DAY AS FOLLOWS:
KINDERGARTEN – 2ND GRADE
*8:30 – Kindergarten to 2nd grade grandparents arrive – Grandparents please report to their child’s classroom
*8:30-9:30 – Enjoy creating crafts, taking pics, playing games, eating snacks, and visiting our Book Fair with your
*9:30 – Report back to the child’s classroom
3RD – 5TH GRADE
*9:30 – 3RD – 5TH grandparents arrive – Grandparents please to report to their child’s classroom
*9:30 – 10:30 – Enjoy creating crafts, taking pics, playing games, eating snacks, and visiting our Book Fair with

Due to our compact lunch schedule, which begins at 10:40, we will conclude our Grandparent’s Day at 10:30am.
We are very excited for the activities that we have planned and hope you will be able to attend!

CES BOOKFAIR IS HERE! BOOKFAIR WILL ALSO BE OPEN DURING GRANDPARENTS DAY.
Covington high school academic juniors are hosting a Parents’ Night Out, Kids’ Night to raise money for the Gettysburg trip! The activity night is for grades k-5 and will be on Saturday, October 19th from 6:00 – 8:30pm. Sign your child in at 5:45pm at the atrium entrance. Join the high school students for a night filled with games, snacks, and fun! The cost is $10 per student.
STUDENTS WHO WALK TO SCHOOL IN THE MORNINGS….PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE TO SCHOOL ANY EARLIER THAN 7:45AM DUE TO NO CROSSGUARDS ON DUTY (due to time) THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS. THANK YOU!
PARENTS…..WHEN COMING INTO THE BUILDING YOU MUST COME THROUGH THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING AND SIGN IN AT OFFICER LARRY’S DESK. YOU WILL ALSO NEED A VISITORS PASS. PLEASE DO NOT COME IN THROUGH THE WALKER/CAR RIDER DOORS.
CROSSING GUARDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 7:45 – 8:00 IN THE MORNING. If you arrive at school after this time, please drive around to the front of the building to drop your child off for school. Car line and Walker doors are locked after 8:05a.m.
BIRTH CERTIFICATES AND SHOT RECORDS are due in the office ASAP!
REGISTRATION FORMS for the PK 4 year old class at CES are available. Students must be 4 years of age on or before August 1st.
TRANSPORTATION CHANGES NEED TO BE SENT TO THE CHILD’S TEACHER. WE WILL NOT ALLOW STUDENTS TO CHANGE HIS/HER REGULAR ROUTINE WITHOUT A NOTE OR PHONE CALL TO THE OFFICE. THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD/REN.
When entering CES, please do so at the MAIN ENTRANCE ONLY and CHECK IN AT OFFICER LARRY’S DESK. Thank you!
TREATS BROUGHT IN FOR THE STUDENTS NEED TO BE PRE-PACKAGED FROM A STORE.
BACKGROUND CHECKS for parents wanting to go on field trips can be obtained through the school website under the Superintendent’s tab. There is a fee for the process. Background checks are good for 2 years.

WE OFFER OVER 50 DIFFERENT PROJECTS FOR KIDS TO CHOOSE FROM RANGING FROM MODEL ROCKETS, CAKE DECORATING, LEGOS, ARTS AND CRAFTS. COVINGTON SKILL BUILDERS CLINIC… Program is for both girls and boys in Kindergarten to 5th grade and will begin October 21 – December 16 on every Monday from 7:00-7:50pm.
Each clinic session will be held in the Covington Elementary School gym. Skill Builders recogntition night will be Friday, October 11th. Forms were sent home earlier in the week.
WABASH RIVER YOUTH LEAGUE GIRLS BASKETBALL FOR 4TH – 8TH GRADES. GAMES WILL BE PLAYED IN COVINGTON AND ATTICA ON SUNDAY AFTERNOONS. FORMS WERE SENT HOME EARLIER IN THE WEEK.
