Juniors: There is a sign-up sheet to work on the Homecoming Float
in the office.
“Any CHS student interested in swimming this winter needs to stop by Mr. McCormick’s office by next Monday (Sept. 16) for information.
Anyone wishing to swim will be responsible for his/her own transportation to and from an alternate pool site for practices that is approximately 25-30 minutes away. Please keep this in mind when making your decision.”
Building Trades class has been cancelled for tomorrow.
After being down 0-2 the volleyball team battled back in a tough WRC match to beat Parke Heritage last night! Lauren O’Neill had 12 kills and 9 blocks,
Nai’a Pettit had 10 kills and 9 digs, Holly Linville had 9 kills and 3 blocks, and Erin Reynolds had 29 digs and 3 aces. The girls are now 3-0 in the WRC and 8-3 on the season. Great team effort!!
The boys tennis team defeated North Montgomery last night 4-1. Varsity winners were Calvin Springer, Evan Norton, Nolan Potter, Eli Batley, Nick Turner, Jackson Kindell
JV winners were Emmett Reynolds, Tanner Schaeffer, Kavan Fye.
Powder Puff Football sign-up sheets are in the high school office. This is for
players and coaches.
There will be a girls basketball callout on Thursday, September 12 during Homeroom
in the student lounge.
There will be an FCA 5th quarter this Friday after the football game at the complex. All high school and middle school students are welcome.

There is a Registration Form in the office for the Halloween Hustle 5K/10K on Saturday, October
26 at 9:00 am at the Covington Circle Trail.
The Covington Business Association has a new program – The Covington Business Association Ambassador. Any Covington Community High School junior or senior is eligible to apply. The selected student will serve as a volunteer at the Apple Fest, Ghost Walk and Magical Christmas. Upon successful completion of duties, the student will receive $500. This is a great way to gain volunteer experience. Please see Mrs. Myers for an application. Application deadline is September 20th.

The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
(EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter
SAT School Day will be Wednesday, October 16th (which is an E-Learning Day). Any senior interested in taking the SAT that morning at Covington High School should sign-up in the guidance office. The cost is $49.50. Checks should be made payable to Covington High School and given to Mrs. Linville. Fee Waivers are available if certain criteria are met – see Mrs. Myers with questions. The due date for registration and payment is September 18th.

Covington High School Athletic Department will be hosting the 1st Annual
All Sports Golf Scramble on Sunday, September 22. Start time is 1:00.
It is a Fundraiser to support all Covington High School and Middle School Athletic programs. Entry forms are available in the high school office.
