Covington High School Announcements
Our CHS Lady Trojan golfers put in an impressive showing at Turkey Run last night as they defeated both Parke Heritage and Attica, 223-228-251. Corinne Moore was medalist and shot a career best 45 including an EAGLE on the par 5 hole #11. Audrey Galloway shot her best of the year with a solid 53, and Lidia Hanson had a career best 60. Rounding out the scoring was Olivia McGurk with 65, Chloe Martin and Taylor Woodard 67, and Aubrey Stonecipher 68. The girls will host Seeger tomorrow at Rivercrest starting at 4:30. Come out and support our Lady Trojan golfers.
Last night the varsity soccer team defeated Crawfordsville 2-1 on a game winning goal by Logan Pinkerton on an assist from Rico Mandolini with three minutes remaining. The other goal combination was again Pinkerton and Mandolini. The defense limited Crawfordsville to seven shots on goal. The win pushes the Trojans to a 4-2 record. The junior varsity was defeated last night after the varsity game. Both teams will play again at Georgetown on Thursday.
The boys tennis team lost a close match to Fountain Central last night 2-3. Evan Norton, Nolan Potter, and Myles Potter all had exciting 3 set wins.
JV Football team defeated FC last night 58-0.
The volleyball games at North Vermillion this Thursday will be played in the Elementary Gym. Doors open at 4:15 with a C-team game starting at 5:00; JV will start at 6:00.
FFA Meeting during homeroom Friday is only for current Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomore members. Meet in the ANNEX. New members 9-12 will meet at a later date.
Student Council meeting this Friday, September 6 during Homeroom in Mrs. Martin’s room 106
in the Middle School.
Seniors: Powderpuff shirt order and money is due to Faith Barnes by Friday, September 6.
The Covington Business Association has a new program – The Covington Business Association Ambassador. Any Covington Community High School junior or senior is eligible to apply. The selected student will serve as a volunteer at the Apple Fest, Ghost Walk and Magical Christmas. Upon successful completion of duties, the student will receive $500. This is a great way to gain volunteer experience. Please see Mrs. Myers for an application. Application deadline is September 20th.

After school snacks for high school fall athletes will be handed out in the
Student lounge Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week.
The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
(EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter
SAT School Day will be Wednesday, October 16th (which is an E-Learning Day). Any senior interested in taking the SAT that morning at Covington High School should sign-up in the guidance office. The cost is $49.50. Checks should be made payable to Covington High School and given to Mrs. Linville. Fee Waivers are available if certain criteria are met – see Mrs. Myers with questions. The due date for registration and payment is September 18th.

DACC will be hosting a College Day on the morning of Thursday, September 19th. Last year 55 different colleges were represented from 10 different states. Any student interested in attending should sign-up in the guidance office by Wednesday, September 4th.
There will be a National College Fair in Indianapolis on Tuesday, September 24th. Participants will be linked to hundreds of colleges and universities. Interested students should sign-up in the guidance office by Friday, September 13th.

All Sports Golf Scramble on Sunday, September 22. Start time is 1:00.
It is a Fundraiser to support all Covington High School and Middle School Athletic programs. Entry forms are available in the high school office.
