Covington High School Announcements
The following students need to report to the Glass Room at the beginning of homeroom today (you will need your chromebooks):
There will be a Senior Class meeting today at 11:40 am in the Student Lounge.
“The Music Department Kick-off Meeting for March 2021 will be held at 6pm today in the band room. Any student who is interested in high school band OR choir should be in attendance.”
Any high school 4-H member who would like to help with an Elementary School promotion
must see Miss Davis today.
“There will be a Champions Together meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2:30pm in the front office.
This meeting is for any student who attended either the Plainfield HS or Arsenal Tech HS IHSAA student-leadership conferences.”
Last night the Trojan soccer team defeated North Putnam 2-1 on Senior Night. Goals were scored by Rico Mandolini and Logan Pinkerton while both assists came from Tanner Dreher. The Trojans are now 10-5 on the season and will travel to North Montgomery tonight for the last regular season game. Thank you to soccer seniors Dalton Connolly, Tanner Dreher, Devon Durant, Logan Herzog, and Skyler Ware for four years of hard work and dedication to the soccer program. Go Trojans!
Congratulations to Calvin Springer, Nolan Potter, and Myles Potter for the outstanding tennis that they played last night at the WRC tennis tournament at Fountain Central. Nolan and Myles won the WRC tennis doubles tournament by defeating Fountain Central and South Vermillion. Calvin placed second in the WRC tennis singles tournament with a 3rd set tiebreaker lost to Fountain Central. Well done guys. It was Nolan 2nd time to be all-conference and Myles and Calvin first time.
Sophomores and juniors will be taking the PSAT the morning of Wednesday, October 30th.
Fall sports awards is scheduled for Thursday, November 7 at 7:00.
4-H Jr Leader Kickoff on Monday October 14th at 6:30 pm will be held at the Fountain County Fairgrounds.
The wrestling team will be playing paintball l on Saturday, Oct. 5 up in Attica. Any CHS student who thinks they might wrestle is welcome to join the team on Oct. 5.
There is a sheet in the front office to sign up for this trip.
Covington High School 2020 yearbooks are now on sale. Cost is $45.00. Price increases to $50.00
on November 26, 2019. You may pick up an order form in the high school office or order online
at yearbookforever.com. Deadline date to order is March 20, 2020
The Cross Country team is selling T shirts, T shirt Hoodies, and sweatshirts in various color options. Please see any Cross Country runner to purchase. Order forms are also available on Mrs. Gee’s desk in the atrium. Payment must be made when ordering.
The Covington Varsity/JV Volleyball teams will be hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser the night of the home Attica game, Thursday, October 3rd, 2019, at 6 pm, in the Covington Varsity Gym.
Special “GO FOR THE KILL: BEAT BREAST CANCER” T-shirt orders are being taken until Friday, September 27th: Cost of the shirts is $14 for short sleeved and $17 for long sleeved. Forms are available in the school offices.
There is a Registration Form in the office for the Halloween Hustle 5K/10K on Saturday, October
26 at 9:00 am at the Covington Circle Trail.
The 2019 Yearbooks have arrived. Graduates may pick them up from Mrs. Gee.

The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
(EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter
