Covington High School Announcements

There will be a Sophomore Class meeting today in the Student Lounge during

All Freshmen who want a Powder Puff shirt, your money and order is due to
Ms. Rennick or Miss Reed by the end of school today.

Powder Puff Football sign-up sheets are in the high school office. This is for
players and coaches.

There will be a girls basketball callout on Thursday, September 12 during Homeroom
in the student lounge.

Our CHS girl’s golf team finished 2nd in the Bi-County tourney last night played at Rivercrest. Congratulations to Corinne Moore for making all Bi-County. She was co medalist with a score of 49. Also scoring for the Trojans were Audrey Galloway with 58, Taylor Woodard 61, Aubrey Stonecipher 64, Lidia Hanson 66, Chloe Martin 69, and Olivia McGurk 70. The girls will travel to Crawfordsville next Monday as they prepare for Sectionals next Saturday. Go Trojans.

The boys tennis team beat Parke Heritage 5-0 in an exciting match last night. Calvin Springer, Eli Batley, Nolan Potter, Myles Potter, Nick Turner, and Jackson Kindell all came from behind to win. Evan Norton was also a winner.
JV winners were Peyt Shumaker, Emmett Reynolds, and Kavan Fye

There will be an FCA 5th quarter this Friday after the football game at the complex. All high school and middle school students are welcome.

Friday, Sept. 13 at the Trojan Complex for any Trojan fan 4:45-6:15.
$1/person. All food, drinks, table service provided. Bring your chairs and come eat!

There is a Registration Form in the office for the Halloween Hustle 5K/10K on Saturday, October
26 at 9:00 am at the Covington Circle Trail.

The Covington Business Association has a new program – The Covington Business Association Ambassador. Any Covington Community High School junior or senior is eligible to apply. The selected student will serve as a volunteer at the Apple Fest, Ghost Walk and Magical Christmas. Upon successful completion of duties, the student will receive $500. This is a great way to gain volunteer experience. Please see Mrs. Myers for an application. Application deadline is September 20th.

This Month

Homecoming Parade: If you would like to place an entry in the Homecoming Parade,
please contact or call the high school office 793-2286. Deadline date for entries
is Wednesday, September 25. Lineup at the park at 4:30 and parade at 5:00

The 2019 Yearbooks have arrived. Graduates may pick them up from Mrs. Gee.

After school snacks for high school fall athletes will be handed out in the
Student lounge Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week.

The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
(EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter


SAT School Day will be Wednesday, October 16th (which is an E-Learning Day). Any senior interested in taking the SAT that morning at Covington High School should sign-up in the guidance office. The cost is $49.50. Checks should be made payable to Covington High School and given to Mrs. Linville. Fee Waivers are available if certain criteria are met – see Mrs. Myers with questions. The due date for registration and payment is September 18th.

Any junior or senior interested in meeting with a representative from one of the following college should sign up on the google sheet that was shared with you from Mrs. Brown.

Covington High School Athletic Department will be hosting the 1st Annual
All Sports Golf Scramble on Sunday, September 22. Start time is 1:00.
It is a Fundraiser to support all Covington High School and Middle School Athletic programs. Entry forms are available in the high school office.
