Covington High School Announcements
The wrestling team has had a great start to the season. The team will be doing a Team Ninja Run today after school. Give them a horn honk if you see them running around town completing their Ninja Challenge Stations. We are still looking for 8 more student-athletes who would like to be part of the wrestling team this year. Come and see Coach McCormick if you are interested. We will get back on the mats next Monday for week 2 of practices.
Congratulations to Olivia McGurk and Corinne Moore for being named Academic All-State Honorable Mention for girl’s golf.
There will be a Student Council meeting on Monday, November 11 during Homeroom in Mrs. Martin’s room.
The Senior Announcement Committee will meet Tuesday, November 12 during Homeroom in the Foods Room.
This is a reminder that the wreath orders are due Monday November 11 at 8 AM to Coach Field. If you are going on the Gettysburg trip, please get them turned in before you leave.

Coach Ballard is providing a link to the online store for Covington Basketball. This store will be open through November 17. All items should be delivered to your home in time for Christmas. Thank you in advance for supporting the Covington Boys Basketball Team!
The SAT will be offered the morning of Wednesday, March 4th. Any junior or senior interested in taking the test should sign-up in the guidance office. The deadline for signing up and payment is January 29th. The cost is $49.50 (checks payable to Covington High School) – checks should be given to Mrs. Linville. A limited number of fee waivers (cost will still be $8) are available for students who qualify. Students should see Mrs. Myers to request a fee waiver.
The Covington and Fountain Central Music Departments are having their 2nd Annual “Pack the House” night with the Danville Dashers on this Friday,November 8th. Watch the Danville Dashers take on the Danbury Titans all while supporting your music department. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased from Mrs. Gee at the front desk or any band or chorus student.
Veterans’ Day Program will be Monday, November 11th at 9:00 a.m. in the high school gym.
Anyone interested in Spirit Lifting for the 2019-2020 season should sign-up in the office and join the cheerleaders for an introductory practice on Thursday, November 7th from 7-8:30pm. Please take an information sheet which includes upcoming practice times and dates. Talk to a current cheerleader for more information.
The Salvation Army is in need of students to sign up to be Bell Ringers for the Red Kettle Christmas campaign. Students should check the school website for a link to sign up. Or you may call Sara Wheeler at 765-366-6609.
Covington High School 2020 yearbooks are now on sale. Cost is $45.00. Price increases to $50.00
on November 26, 2019. You may pick up an order form in the high school office or order online
at yearbookforever.com. Deadline date to order is March 20, 2020.
The 2019 Yearbooks have arrived. Graduates may pick them up from Mrs. Gee.

After school snacks for high school fall athletes will be handed out in the
Student lounge Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week.
The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
(EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter
Any student wanting to discuss a possible schedule change for 2nd semester should see Mrs. Myers ASAP. The deadline for changes is Friday, December 13th. Parent permission will be required for most schedule changes.
