Covington High School Announcements

Today

There will be a Cross Country team meeting at 11:35 today during 5th period in the atrium. This is a required meeting for all cross country team members.

Today during Homeroom- anyone interested in being on prom committee needs to meet in Mrs. Coffing’s room after the announcements-

Anyone wanting to be a Boys Basketball Manager should meet in Coach Ballard’s room next Tuesday,
October 29 during Homeroom.

Mrs. Cotten’s 7th hour freshmen need to see her during homeroom today.

Covington Students — Just a friendly reminder that All-Sport Passes will not work at tonight’s IHSAA sectional game. Bring your $6 to buy your ticket at the gate this evening.

All FFA members attending National FFA convention next Wednesday, please meet in Mr. Myers room next Monday, October 28 at 11:45 during homeroom.

Varsity soccer team should stop by Coach Sowers’ room for a brief meeting at the end of the day today.

Juniors and sophomores attending the FFA National Convention Wednesday, Oct. 30th should report to the Glass Room by 7:30 am Wednesday, October 30th to complete the PSAT prior to leaving.

The wrestling team will meet at the beginning of homeroom next Tuesday in the wrestling room upstairs to talk about ‘beginning of the season’ stuff and to answer any questions. Anyone interested in coming out for the team is welcome to attend.

Students applying for the d’Arlier trip to France are reminded that applications are due today.

There will be a meeting for our annual wreath sale Tuesday October 29 during 5th period homeroom in the MPR. The wreath sale is for all extracurricular activities participants. This includes all sports, cheerleading, dance, band, choir, etc.

The Covington and Fountain Central Music Departments are having their 2nd Annual “Pack the House” night with the Danville Dashers on November 8th. Watch the Danville Dashers take on the Danbury Titans all while supporting your music department! Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased from Mrs. Gee at the front desk!.

on November 26, 2019. You may pick up an order form in the high school office or order online
at yearbookforever.com. Deadline date to order is March 20, 2020.

FOUNTAIN COUNTY 4-H ENROLLMENT
It’s here! 4-H enrollment has officially started for the 2020 fair year, and we want you to be a part of it.
Getting enrolled is simple! Just sign up using the link below, and watch as your child becomes part of a life changing organization. The 4-H program prides itself on teaching your child responsibility and hard work while also building and contributing to our community. All of this is in addition to the memories and lasting friendships your child will make along the way.
So which 4-H program is right for your kiddo? Fountain County Mighty Mini 4-H is open to all kids currently enrolled in 1st & 2nd grades. Regular 4-H is open to all kids currently enrolled in 3rd thru 12th grades. We offer over 50 different projects for kids to choose from ranging from model rockets and cake decorating to legos and arts and crafts. With a wide array of projects there is literally something for everyone, and we at the Extension Office (765-793-6240) would be happy to go through all the projects that we offer to see what is the best fit for your kiddo.
If you are interested in joining or rejoining Fountain County 4-H or Mighty Mini 4-H then you will need to sign up through https:/in.4honline.com. If you need assistance setting up a new family profile or if you lost your old password, please either call the Extension Office or email Laura (lswillia@purdue.edu) and we will be happy to assist you through this process! Want to make your 4-H enrollment even more fun? Have your child grab a friend to sign up with and watch them discover together what Fountain County 4-H is all about!.

The 2019 Yearbooks have arrived. Graduates may pick them up from Mrs. Gee.
There several 2019 yearbooks left for purchase. If you would like to purchase
one the cost is $50.00.

After school snacks for high school fall athletes will be handed out in the
Student lounge Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week.

The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
(EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter
Coats.

Guidance:

Sophomores and juniors will be taking the PSAT the morning of Wednesday, October 30.

Any junior or senior interested in meeting with a representative from one of the following college should sign up on the google sheet that was shared with you from Mrs. Brown.

Fall sports awards is scheduled for Monday, November 4 at 7:00.

The CHS Athletic Department Colt tickets raffle is going on now! Tickets are $5.00 each and can be purchased from ANY CHS fall, winter, or spring athlete. With each ticket purchased you have 8 chances to win. Prizes are as follows:
1st Prize – 2 Colts Tickets to the November 10th game (over $300 value)
2nd Prize – Family all-sports pass ($170 value)
3rd/4th Prize – $150 each
5th/6th Prize – $50 each
7th/8th Prize – CHS Stadium Blanket ($25 value)
Drawing is October 25th.
