Covington High School Announcements
FFA Meeting during homeroom today is only for current Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomore members. Meet in the ANNEX. New members 9-12 will meet at a later date.

Congratulations to the boys Cross Country team for defeating Parke Heritage 26 to 29 in Thursday’s meet also with N Vermillion. Congrats to Blake Bova for finishing 1st. Congratulations as well to Wyatt Woodrow, Elliot Crawford, Ethan Streuer, and Malachi Warrick a great team win.
Congratulations to Bailey Duncan, Reese Noble, and Lillian Ramirez for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finish, respectively, against Parke Heritage and N Vermillion. Congratulations also to Jessalynn Simpkins for a well run race.
The cross country team’s next meet will be Thursday at the Northmont Charger Classic.
Our CHS Lady Trojan golfers dropped a dual match against Seeger last night, 212-238. Leading the way for the Trojans was Corinne Moore with a 51. Audrey Galloway shot 60, Chloe Martin had a career best 62, Olivia McGurk and Taylor Woodard had 63, Lidia Hanson 64, and Aubrey Stonecipher 68. The girls will host the Bi-County tourney on Monday at Rivercrest starting at 4:30. Come out and support our historic girl’s golf team.
The Covington boys tennis team defeated Attica last night 5-0.
Varsity winners were Calvin Springer, Evan Norton, Myles Potter, Nolan Potter, Eli Batley, Nick Turner, Jackson Kindell. JV winners were Emmett Reynolds, Tanner Schaeffer and Kavan Fye.
The volleyball team beat North Vermillion last night and will take on Parke Heritage next Tuesday.
Juniors: Bring your $15.00 and order your Homecoming tshirts in Mrs. Coffing’s room sometime before the end of school today.
Seniors: Get those Powder Puff shirt orders in today. Give Faith Barnes your order and money.
All Freshmen who want a Powder Puff shirt, your money and order is due to Ms. Rennick or Miss Reed by the end of school next Tuesday, September 10.
There will be a National Honor Society meeting on Monday, September 9 at 11:45 in Mrs. Willis’s room.

Homecoming Parade: If you would like to place an entry in the Homecoming Parade,
please contact or call the high school office 793-2286. Deadline date for entries
is Wednesday, September 25. Lineup at the park at 4:30 and parade at 5:00.
The Covington Business Association has a new program – The Covington Business Association Ambassador. Any Covington Community High School junior or senior is eligible to apply. The selected student will serve as a volunteer at the Apple Fest, Ghost Walk and Magical Christmas. Upon successful completion of duties, the student will receive $500. This is a great way to gain volunteer experience. Please see Mrs. Myers for an application. Application deadline is September 20th.

After school snacks for high school fall athletes will be handed out in the
Student lounge Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week.
The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
(EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter
SAT School Day will be Wednesday, October 16th (which is an E-Learning Day). Any senior interested in taking the SAT that morning at Covington High School should sign-up in the guidance office. The cost is $49.50. Checks should be made payable to Covington High School and given to Mrs. Linville. Fee Waivers are available if certain criteria are met – see Mrs. Myers with questions. The due date for registration and payment is September 18th.

There will be a National College Fair in Indianapolis on Tuesday, September 24th. Participants will be linked to hundreds of colleges and universities. Interested students should sign-up in the guidance office by Friday, September 13th.

All Sports Golf Scramble on Sunday, September 22. Start time is 1:00.
It is a Fundraiser to support all Covington High School and Middle School Athletic programs. Entry forms are available in the high school office.
