Su: Introduction of New Instructor/Boys Basketball Coach
It is my pleasure to introduce Mr. Shaun Busick as our new high school English instructor and boys varsity basketball coach. Coach Busick joins the CT family after spending the past 14 years as head coach at Zionsville High School, where he taught a number of subjects including, English, Physical Education, Creative Writing, and Lifetime Sports and Fitness.
While at Zionsville coach Busick’s teams had a record of 220 – 105, capturing two sectional championships in the process. Overall, coach owns a 395 – 223 record, with seven sectional titles and one regional championship. His 2004 Bellmont team captured a semi-state title to earn a trip to the state finals.
A graduate of Grace College, Mr. Busick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. He minored in English Education and Journalism while at Grace.
Concerning the new opportunity Shaun stated:
“It is an honor for me to be an English teacher and Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach at Covington Community High School. The student-centered approach of Dr. Smith, Mrs. Karrfalt and Mr. McCormick matches my teaching-coaching philosophy, which makes this position a great fit for me. In addition, the passion that the Covington Community has for basketball made the position one in which I knew I wanted to pursue. I am excited to begin this new chapter in my career and look forward to building a championship-caliber Program with the Trojan players and families.”
Coach Busick and his wife Cathleen have one child, Drew, who will be a freshman this fall. They plan on moving to Covington in the near future.
Please join me in welcoming coach Busick and his family to our CT family.
