Covington High School Announcements
The Wellness Policy Committee will be meeting today.. If you would
like to join this committee, please be in the High School Cafeteria at 2:45. This Institution is
an equal opportunity provider.
The Senior Flower, Color, and Motto Committee will meet Thursday, November 14 during Homeroom
in the Clothing room.
There will be a Winter Guard call-out meeting for any high school student interested on Tuesday,
November 19 during Homeroom in the choir room.
Wrestling nears a full squad! We only need 1 more athlete to make a full team which hasn’t happened in many years. We need a 132 pounder. If you weigh anywhere from 125 – 135, we could sure use you on the team. Practices are at 3:30pm after school.
CHS athletes are reminded of the College Athlete seminar tonight at 7pm. DePauw University’s athletic department will be present to discuss college athletics and the athlete recruitment process. Athletes and coaches from all 8 WRC schools as well as the Montgomery County schools will be in attendance.
Coach Ballard is providing a link to the online store for Covington Basketball. This store will be open through November 17. All items should be delivered to your home in time for Christmas. Thank you in advance for supporting the Covington Boys Basketball Team!
The Salvation Army is in need of students to sign up to be Bell Ringers for the Red Kettle Christmas campaign. Students should check the school website for a link to sign up. Or you may call Sara Wheeler at 765-366-6609.
Covington High School 2020 yearbooks are now on sale. Cost is $45.00. Price increases to $50.00
on November 26, 2019. You may pick up an order form in the high school office or order online
at yearbookforever.com. Deadline date to order is March 20, 2020.
The 2019 Yearbooks have arrived. Graduates may pick them up from Mrs. Gee.
There several 2019 yearbooks left for purchase. If you would like to purchase
one the cost is $50.00.

After school snacks for high school fall athletes will be handed out in the
Student lounge Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week.
The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infantCoats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
(EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
The SAT will be offered the morning of Wednesday, March 4th. Any junior or senior interested in taking the test should sign-up in the guidance office. The deadline for signing up and payment is January 29th. The cost is $49.50 (checks payable to Covington High School) – checks should be given to Mrs. Linville. A limited number of fee waivers (cost will still be $8) are available for students who qualify. Students should see Mrs. Myers to request a fee waiver.
Any student wanting to discuss a possible schedule change for 2nd semester should see Mrs. Myers ASAP. The deadline for changes is Friday, December 13th. Parent permission will be required for most schedule changes.
