Covington High School Announcements
“There will be a Champions Together meeting today at 2:30pm in the front office.
This meeting is for any student who attended either the Plainfield HS or Arsenal Tech HS IHSAA student-leadership conferences.”

Last night the soccer team defeated North Montgomery 5-1 in their last regular season game. Savion Waddell scored four goals and Logan Pinkerton added the other goal. Assists came from Tanner Dreher, Rico Mandolini, and Logan Pinkerton. Covington’s defense also held the Charlgers to zero shots on goal in the second half. The Trojans close out the regular season with an 11-6 record and will face Bethesda Christian in the opening round of Sectional play on Monday night at 7pm at Cascade High School.
Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country runners in their win at yesterday’s meet against Attica and N Vermillion. Blake Bova and Bailey Duncan finished 1st in their race. The team will compete again tomorrow at Parke Heritage.
The Senior group picture committee will meet Thursday, October 3 in the student lounge during Homeroom.
Criminal Justice class is cancelled for Thursday, October 3.
Sophomores and juniors will be taking the PSAT the morning of Wednesday, October 30th.
Fall sports awards is scheduled for Monday, November 4 at 7:00.
Friday, October 4 is the last day to order Cross Country T shirts, T shirt Hoodies, and sweatshirts in various color options.. Order forms are available on Mrs. Gee’s desk in the atrium. Payment must be made when ordering.
The Covington Varsity/JV Volleyball teams will be hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser the night of the home Attica game, this Thursday, October 3rd, 2019, at 6 pm, in the Covington Varsity Gym.
4-H Jr Leader Kickoff on Monday October 14th at 6:30 pm will be held at the Fountain County Fairgrounds.
The wrestling team will be playing paintball l on Saturday, Oct. 5 up in Attica. Any CHS student who thinks they might wrestle is welcome to join the team on Oct. 5.
There is a sheet in the front office to sign up for this trip.
Covington High School 2020 yearbooks are now on sale. Cost is $45.00. Price increases to $50.00
on November 26, 2019. You may pick up an order form in the high school office or order online
at yearbookforever.com. Deadline date to order is March 20, 2020
The academic juniors are hosting a Parents’ Night Out, Kids’ Night In fun night to raise money for the Gettysburg trip! The activity night is for grades k-5 and will be on Saturday, October 19th from 6:00-8:30 P.M. Sign your child in at 5:45 at the atrium entrance. Join the high schoolers for a night filled with games, snacks, and fun! The cost is $10 per student.
Fountain County 4-H Enrollment
It’s here! 4-H enrollment has officially started for the 2020 fair year, and we want you to be a part of it.
Getting enrolled is simple! Just sign up using the link below, and watch as your child becomes part of a life changing organization. The 4-H program prides itself on teaching your child responsibility and hard work while also building and contributing to our community. All of this is in addition to the memories and lasting friendships your child will make along the way.
So which 4-H program is right for your kiddo? Fountain County Mighty Mini 4-H is open to all kids currently enrolled in 1st & 2nd grades. Regular 4-H is open to all kids currently enrolled in 3rd thru 12th grades. We offer over 50 different projects for kids to choose from ranging from model rockets and cake decorating to legos and arts and crafts. With a wide array of projects there is literally something for everyone, and we at the Extension Office (765-793-6240) would be happy to go through all the projects that we offer to see what is the best fit for your kiddo.

The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
