Covington High School Announcements


Last night the Trojan soccer team beat West Vigo 4-1. Goals came from Savion Waddell (2) and Logan Pinkerton (2). Assists came from Tanner Dreher (2) Logan Pinkerton, and Rico Mandolini. The soccer team is now 2-1 on the season. Both varsity and JV play at Danville High School tomorrow at 5pm.

The volleyball team beat West Vigo last night. Holly Linville, Grayson Kleist and Nai’a Pettit all had 8 kills each. Way to go girls!

Scholarship Contest: Solve a problem, win a $5,000 scholarship!! Go to for more information. Deadline is September 9th.

The Senior Homecoming Float Committee will Thursday during Homeroom in the commons.

There will be a high school basketball call-out on Thursday, August 29 duringHomeroom
in Mr. Ballard’s room.

Friday will be Cowboy dress up day for football at school and at the game.

There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes 5th quarter after the football game on Friday night at the football field. All high school and middle school students invited.

SAT School Day will be Wednesday, October 16th (which is an E-Learning Day). Any senior interested in taking the SAT that morning at Covington High School should sign-up in the guidance office. The cost is $49.50. Checks should be made payable to Covington High School and given to Mrs. Linville. Fee Waivers are available if certain criteria are met – see Mrs. Myers with questions. The due date for registration and payment is September 18th.

After school snacks for high school fall athletes will be handed out in the
Student lounge Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week.

The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
(EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter


Any junior or senior interested in meeting with a representative from one of the following college should sign up on the google sheet that was shared with you from Mrs. Brown.

University of Indianapolis – Monday, September 9th at 8:00am
Wabash College – Tuesday, September 10th during homeroom
Vincennes University – Thursday, September 12th during homeroom
Manchester University – Tuesday, October 8th during homeroom
Franklin College – Monday, October 28th during homeroom

DACC will be hosting a College Day on the morning of Thursday, September 19th. Last year 55 different colleges were represented from 10 different states. Any student interested in attending should sign-up in the guidance office by Wednesday, September 4th.

There will be a National College Fair in Indianapolis on Tuesday, September 24th. Participants will be linked to hundreds of colleges and universities. Interested students should sign-up in the guidance office by Friday, September 13th.

Covington High School Athletic Department will be hosting the 1st Annual
All Sports Golf Scramble on Sunday, September 22. Start time is 1:00. It
is a Fundraiser to support all Covington High School and Middle School Athletic programs. Entry forms are available in the high school office.

All Sports Passes are on sale in the high school office.
Students $30.00
Adults $65.00
Senior Citizen $35.00
Family Pass $170.00

Photographers from Doug’s Studio will be here on Wednesday, August 28th and 29th to
take team and individual pictures. Student athletes will be able to purchase team and/or
and or individual pictures by completing the necessary order form and enclosing payment.

least 10 minutes before the scheduled time. In case of bad weather, pictures will be taken in the Varsity Gym. Athletes must pay before the pictures are taken
