Covington High School Announcements
There will be a Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball meeting in Mr. Ballard’s room today during Homeroom.
ALL freshman should meet in the Art room following announcements TODAY during Homeroom.
There will be a Senior Class meeting on Tuesday, October 1 at 11:40 am in the Student Lounge.
“The Music Department Kick-off Meeting for March 2021 will be held at 6pm on Tuesday, October 1 in the band room. Any student who is interested in high school band OR choir should be in attendance.”
Fall sports awards is scheduled for Tuesday, November 12th at 7:00.
Any student who has attended the recent IHSAA student-leadership trips to Plainfield HS and Arsenal Tech HS with Mr. McCormick may attend a Champions Together meeting this Wednesday at 2:30pm in the front office.
The Volleyball team won the Bi-County tournament Saturday beating Attica in the first match and Seeger in the final. Lauren O’Neill had 19 kills, Holly Linville had 9 kills and 3 blocks, Karsyn Engle had 42 assists and 3 aces, and Hope Linville had 18 digs and 5 kills. The match Tuesday at McCutcheon has been cancelled so the next match is at home Thursday evening against Attica for Dig Pink night!

Our CHS Girl’s Golf team concluded their season with Corinne Moore representing the Trojans in the IHSAA Regional on Saturday at Greenwood. Congratulations to all the girls for a great first season!
Congratulations to Calvin Springer, Evan Norton, Nolan Potter, and Myles Potter for being selected to the All-Bi-County Boys tennis team.

Having wins Saturday for the tennis team in the WRC were Calvin Springer, Evan Norton, Nolan Potter, Myles Potter, Eli Batley, and Jackson Kindell.
Good luck tonight to Nolan Potter and Myles Potter and Calvin Springer. They will be playing in the WRC doubles tournament at Fountain Central. Calvin Springer will be playing in the semi-finals of the WRC singles tournament.
4-H Jr Leader Kickoff on Monday October 14th at 6:30 pm will be held at the Fountain County Fairgrounds.
The wrestling team will be playing paintball l on Saturday, Oct. 5 up in Attica. Any CHS student who thinks they might wrestle is welcome to join the team on Oct. 5.
There is a sheet in the front office to sign up for this trip.
Covington High School 2020 yearbooks are now on sale. Cost is $45.00. Price increases to $50.00
on November 26, 2019. You may pick up an order form in the high school office or order online
at yearbookforever.com. Deadline date to order is March 20, 2020
The Cross Country team is selling T shirts, T shirt Hoodies, and sweatshirts in various color options. Please see any Cross Country runner to purchase. Order forms are also available on Mrs. Gee’s desk in the atrium. Payment must be made when ordering.
The Covington Varsity/JV Volleyball teams will be hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser the night of the home Attica game, Thursday, October 3rd, 2019, at 6 pm, in the Covington Varsity Gym.
Special “GO FOR THE KILL: BEAT BREAST CANCER” T-shirt orders are being taken until Friday, September 27th: Cost of the shirts is $14 for short sleeved and $17 for long sleeved. Forms are available in the school offices.
There is a Registration Form in the office for the Halloween Hustle 5K/10K on Saturday, October
26 at 9:00 am at the Covington Circle Trail.

The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
