Covington High School Announcements
JVFootball game tonight with Attica has been canceled.
Welding Classes are canceled today.
Seniors: Today is the last day for you to turn in your parking pass request to Officer Lathrop.
Josten’s will be here tomorrow to meet with Seniors at 8:00 and Freshman at 9:00.

The elementary school is looking for high school student volunteers to help in the elementary library after school (3:15 – 4:00). Contact Mrs. Myers in Guidance if interested.
The volleyball team took 3rd place at the West Lafayette Harrison Tourney, beating Benton Central, Lowell and Rochester on Saturday. Lauren O’Neill led the way with 42 kills and 11 blocks. Nai’a Pettit had 23 kills and 9 aces. And Holly Linville and Grayson Kleist each had 17 kills.
The boys tennis team placed 2nd in the Bi-County tournament on Saturday. Evan Norton won the #2 singles position. Calvin Springer, Nolan Potter, Myles Potter, Nick Turner, and Jackson Kindell all had one win.
Juniors need to sign up for float building (sign up in office) . If nobody signs up-we will not be here.
Those students who think they have earned enough points for an athletic jacket this fall need to see Mrs. Brown by the end of the day Friday, September 20th.
“Any CHS student interested in swimming this winter needs to stop by Mr. McCormick’s office by the end of school today for information.
Anyone wishing to swim will be responsible for his/her own transportation to and from an alternate pool site for practices that is approximately 25-30 minutes away. Please keep this in mind when making your decision.”
On Thursday, October 3rd, during Manufacturing Week, we will be taking juniors and seniors to MasterGuard in Veedersburg. The focus will be exploration of the various career options in manufacturing. We will leave the school at 12:40 and return by 2:20. Any interested junior or senior should sign-up in the guidance office by noon Friday, September 20th.

Homecoming Parade: If you would like to place an entry in the Homecoming Parade,
please contact or call the high school office 793-2286. Deadline date for entries
is Wednesday, September 25. Lineup at the park at 4:30 and parade at 5:00

The Covington Business Association has a new program – The Covington Business Association Ambassador. Any Covington Community High School junior or senior is eligible to apply. The selected student will serve as a volunteer at the Apple Fest, Ghost Walk and Magical Christmas. Upon successful completion of duties, the student will receive $500. This is a great way to gain volunteer experience. Please see Mrs. Myers for an application. Application deadline is September 20th.

The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
(EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter
SAT School Day will be Wednesday, October 16th (which is an E-Learning Day). Any senior interested in taking the SAT that morning at Covington High School should sign-up in the guidance office. The cost is $49.50. Checks should be made payable to Covington High School and given to Mrs. Linville. Fee Waivers are available if certain criteria are met – see Mrs. Myers with questions. The due date for registration and payment is September 18th.

All Sports Golf Scramble on Sunday, September 22. Start time is 1:00.
It is a Fundraiser to support all Covington High School and Middle School Athletic programs. Entry forms are available in the high school office.
