Covington High School Announcements
Today during home room, there will be a mandatory meeting for those students invited to apply for the Covington National Honor Society. The meeting is in Mrs. Willis’s room. If you plan to apply, you must attend this meeting.
Students may check the lists on the guidance office window for Honor Jacket, chevron, and honor pin award winners. If you think you earned an award and you are not listed, please check with Mrs. Myers or Mrs. Brown.
Homecoming is Saturday, January 25th. There will be a semi-formal dance after the game until 11:30 in the MPR. The theme for the dance is The Roaring 20s. Cost is $7, but if you bring two nonperishable items to donate to the food pantry, the cost is $5. Also, if you bring in items to donate, you will be entered in to win a $25 gift card.
4-H Enrollment is due Jan. 15. If you want help come to the Covington Middle School Computer Lab on Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
The Senior Graduation Program Committee will organize on Tuesday, January 14 during Homeroom
in the Clothing Room.
There will be a Student Council meeting on Thursday, January 16 during Homeroom in Mrs. Martin’s
Room in the Middle School.
There will be a prom committee meeting Friday, January 17 during homeroom in Mrs. Coffing’s room.
Measuring for Honor Jackets will be Thursday, January 23rd at the beginning of homeroom. Please come to down the HS conference room to be measured.
Please remember to check your lunch balance in Harmony. If you are in the minus NO extras or seconds. If your balance is over -$15.00, you will be given an alternate lunch, which includes a PB&J with a vegetable, fruit & milk.
Weekend Red Cross Lifeguard class @ Fountain Central HS in Veedersburg, IN, just off I-74 & US-41, is now open for registration (starts Feb. 15). Lifeguarding is a tremendous summer and often year round job. Guards find work in local community, school, YMCA, state parks, and college pools. You must be 15 by April 1st 2020, and strong swimmer, able to pass a swimming test. Adults (teachers, coaches) are welcome. The date for the Prom is Saturday, April 25 at the Beef House from 7:00 to 11:00 pm.
Covington High School 2020 yearbooks are now on sale. Cost is $50.00 You may pick up an order form in the high school office or order online at yearbookforever.com. Deadline date to order is March 20, 2020.
The 2019 Yearbooks have arrived. Graduates may pick them up from Mrs. Gee.

The SAT will be offered the morning of Wednesday, March 4th. Any junior or senior interested in taking the test should sign-up in the guidance office. The deadline for signing up and payment is January 29th. The cost is $49.50 (checks payable to Covington High School) – checks should be given to Mrs. Linville. A limited number of fee waivers (cost will still be $8) are available for students who qualify. Students should see Mrs. Myers to request a fee waiver.
