Covington High School Announcements
“Congratulations to Blake Bova and Bailey Duncan for making the All Bi-County Cross Country team last night. Blake finished 7th and Bailey finished 5th in their respective races.”
The Covington boys tennis team defeated Parke Heritage last night 4-1. Varsity winners were Calvin Springer, Evan Norton, Nick Turner, Nolan Potter and Myles Pottter.
JV winners were Emmett Reynolds, Tanner Schaeffer, and Kavan Fye.
Our CHS Lady Trojan golfers will be participating in their first ever Sectional tournament tomorrow morning at Harrison Hills in Attica. Our girls will be teeing off at 8:35. Encourage our girls today when you see them and wish them good luck. Go Trojans!
Attention Seniors: This year we will be doing senior denim. You can decorate a denim clothing item and wear it to school on Homecoming Friday and to the homecoming game as part of the dress up day. If you would like more information, please contact either Madi Kilby or Abby Swaney.
JUNIORS: Come help decorate float this Saturday and Sunday 12-3 or 4 if needed!

The Kiss the Pig Contest is on! Jars for senior football players will be in the office throughout the week starting Monday! Bring in your loose change to vote for who you want to lay a big smooch on a pig at the pep session Friday! The player with the most money at the end of the week will have the honors.
An additional jar has been put out for Mr. McCormick. If there is $75 in his jar by the end of the week, he will have to kiss the pig as well!
The Annual Powderpuff games will be on Wednesday, September 25th beginning with a face-off between the Freshmen and the Juniors at 6pm! Seniors will compete against sophomores immediately after. Cost of admission is $1.00 – sports passes will not be accepted. Players, coaches, and students wearing their class shirt/class color will get into the game free!
The Cross Country team is selling T shirts, T shirt Hoodies, and sweatshirts in various color options. Please see any Cross Country runner to purchase. Order forms are also available on Mrs. Gee’s desk in the atrium. Payment must be made when ordering.
The Covington Band will be present at the football game at Seeger tonight for our
“Go Against the Patriots”. The band hopes to see you there as they cheer on our Trojans to victory.

Josten’s will be here on Monday, September 23 during lunch and from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm
for Freshman to order class rings and Seniors to order Graduation announcements and
Cap and Gowns. They will be in the student lounge.
Those students who think they have earned enough points for an athletic jacket this fall need to see Mrs. Brown by the end of school today.
On Thursday, October 3rd, during Manufacturing Week, we will be taking juniors and seniors to MasterGuard in Veedersburg. The focus will be exploration of the various career options in manufacturing. We will leave the school at 12:40 and return by 2:20. Any interested junior or senior should sign-up in the guidance office by noon Friday, September 20th.

The Covington Varsity/JV Volleyball teams will be hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser the night of the home Attica game, Thursday, October 3rd, 2019, at 6 pm, in the Covington Varsity Gym.
Special “GO FOR THE KILL: BEAT BREAST CANCER” T-shirt orders are being taken until Friday, September 27th: Cost of the shirts is $14 for short sleeved and $17 for long sleeved. Forms are available in the school offices.
A 50/50 Raffle and a Sundae Bar will also be available during the games.
All proceeds will go to help a local resident, currently battling the disease.

The Covington Business Association has a new program – The Covington Business Association Ambassador. Any Covington Community High School junior or senior is eligible to apply. The selected student will serve as a volunteer at the Apple Fest, Ghost Walk and Magical Christmas. Upon successful completion of duties, the student will receive $500. This is a great way to gain volunteer experience. Please see Mrs. Myers for an application. Application deadline is September 20th.

The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm

It is a Fundraiser to support all Covington High School and Middle School Athletic programs. Entry forms are available in the high school office.
