Covington High School Announcements
Our CHS Girls Golf team competed in their first ever WRC tournament the past two nights and came away with a 4th place finish. Congratulations to Corinne Moore for placing 5th individually with a 103 score and making history as Covington’s first all conference golfer for the Lady Trojans. Audrey Galloway finished with 113, Olivia McGurk 127, Lidia Hanson 130, and Aubrey Stonecipher 136. The girls will play at Rivercrest on Monday starting at 4:30. Come on out and watch some great golf.
The Trojan soccer team defeated Faith Christian 3-0 last night. Goals came from Savion Waddell, Layton Wooster, and Bradley Lewsader. An assist came from Logan Pinkerton. The defense threw their first shutout of the year and the midfield battled for the entire game. The JV fell 4-0 in the second game of the evening. The Trojans are back in action on Saturday at Greencastle with the varsity starting at 11 and the JV game after. Go Trojans!
The volleyball team beat Seeger last night. Holly Linville led the way with 12 kills, Lauren O’Neill had 10 kills, Karsyn Engle had 42 assist and Erin Reynolds had 21 digs.
There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes 5th quarter after the football game tonight at the football field. All high school and middle school students invited.

High School pictures will be taken on Tuesday, August 27. Seniors will need to get their picture taken for an ID card. Seniors will not need to purchase pictures. The photographers will be set up and ready at 7:30 am for Vocational students in the Library Glass room. You may order online at Inter-State.com/order and use the code 40159CB. Extra picture forms are in the office.
Senior Fall Athletes: we are extending the deadline for baby pictures until Monday, Aug 26. Students need to email the pictures at email@example.com
SAT School Day will be Wednesday, October 16th (which is an E-Learning Day). Any senior interested in taking the SAT that morning at Covington High School should sign-up in the guidance office. The cost is $49.50. Checks should be made payable to Covington High School and given to Mrs. Linville. Fee Waivers are available if certain criteria are met – see Mrs. Myers with questions. The due date for registration and payment is September 18th.

After school snacks for high school fall athletes will be handed out in the

FCA Wednesday morning breakfasts will start on Wednesday, August 28th at 7am in Coach Sowers’ room. All middle school and high school students are welcome to come!
The City of Covington is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children
sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall.
As before, we especially need children’s washable coats sizes infant
through 16, and all sizes of coats for men and women.”
Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
(EDT) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter

DACC will be hosting a College Day on the morning of Thursday, September 19th. Last year 55 different colleges were represented from 10 different states. Any student interested in attending should sign-up in the guidance office by Wednesday, September 4th.
There will be a National College Fair in Indianapolis on Tuesday, September 24th. Participants will be linked to hundreds of colleges and universities. Interested students should sign-up in the guidance office by Friday, September 13th.

Covington High School Athletic Department will be hosting the 1st Annual
All Sports Golf Scramble on Sunday, September 22. Start time is 1:00. It
is a Fundraiser to support all Covington High School and Middle School Athletic programs. Entry forms are available in the high school office.
All Sports Passes are on sale in the high school office.

Photographers from Doug’s Studio will be here on Wednesday, August 28th and 29th to
take team and individual pictures. Student athletes will be able to purchase team and/or
and or individual pictures by completing the necessary order form and enclosing payment.
