PARENTS!!! Have you ever heard of Accelerated Reader? If you have then you probably already know how important this program is to our English department. If you have never heard of Accelerated Reader, then it is important that you learn!
In a nutshell... Accelerated Reader is a computer software program that quizzes students on books they have read. The software program records each quiz taken and tracks students progress. More importantly, quizzes provide assessment information to help inspire reading, monitor progress, and target instruction to accelerate reading growth. End results provide easy-to-read reports on the reading level and comprehension skills of each student to guide instruction and help students select more reading materials.

Students are given individual usernames and passwords. Please ask your child for their login information (not the same as Harmony).
With Home Connect, you can link the school and home to make reading practice even more effective. By logging on from a home computer students and parents can:
See progress toward reading goals.
Conduct book searches.
Review quiz results.
View number of books read, words read, and quizzes passed.
Cool Tip... Get e-mail notifications for quizzes taken!!!
When you login to Home Connect look for the "E-mail Setup" at the top right. From the e-mail setup you can add e-mail addresses you want notifications sent to.
