Covington High School Announcements

Anyone interested in being a class officer must have the application turned in to Ms. Pearman by the end of the day TODAY. Please see Ms. Pearman for more details.

Congratulations to Corrissa Remter on achieving 1000 career kills in last nights match against Seeger! Both the JV and Varsity won. Corrissa ended the night with 18 kills and 5 blocks. Lauren O’Neill had a career high 13 kills. Karsyn Engle had a great serving night with 4 aces. And Madison Karrfalt had 35 assists.

Last night the Trojan soccer team tied Faith Christian 1-1. The game was intense as Covington battled a very good squad. The lone goal was scored by Logan Pinkerton from an assist by Savion Waddell. The junior varsity was defeated 3-0 in a well played game. Both varsity and JV will play tomorrow at home against Greencastle at 11am.

The CHS Cross Country team’s first meet is tomorrow at Fountain Central beginning at 9:00am. They will be competing with 14 other teams. Come to FC and support your CHS Cross Country team.

The NACAC 2018 Fall National College Fair will be held at the Convention Center in Indianapolis on Thursday, September 20th, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. There are over 150 colleges signed up to participate. Go to www.nacacfairs.org/Indianapolis for more information.

High School Pictures will be taken on Friday, August 24th. Picture forms will be handed out last hour today. Seniors will need to get their picture taken even if not buying pictures for an ID card. You may order online at Inter-State.com/order-use the code 29857DA.

The FCA breakfast will start on Wednesday, August 22nd at 7am. All middle school and high school students are welcome to attend!

Doug’s Studio is taking Fall Sport Pictures on August 22 with volleyball on August 29. Coaches will be handing out order envelopes and have the scheduled times. Athletes must pay before the pictures are taken. Make sure you bring appropriate uniform.

Sports Passes are on sale in the high school office. Students $25.00, Adults $55.00, Sr Citizens $35.00 (60 and over) and Family Pass $150.00 (immediate family).

The Soccer match with North Montgomery has been rescheduled to September 22nd starting at 2 p.m.

The JV Soccer match on Saturday, August 25th with Schlarman-start time has changed to 2:30 Indiana time.

The JV Football team will have a game on Monday, August 20th at home with North Newton starting at 6 P.M.

Any junior or senior interested in meeting with a representative from one of the following colleges should sign the sheet(s) on the guidance office window.

Other: The City of Covington, IN, is collecting new and gently used winter coats (adult and children sizes) for its annual coat give-away this fall. Coats may be brought to the City Building, 1329 Second Street, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm (EST) weekdays. The city is also accepting monetary donations for the purchase of winter coats. Coat distribution will begin October 1st, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (EST) weekdays, at the City Building, and will continue while coat supplies last.

Good morning CMS

Lunch today is BBQ Rib Sandwich on a Bun with Corn.
Breakfast on Monday will be Scrambled Eggs and Ham with a Biscuit.

Attention All Students: You MUST have a sports physical (dated after April 1, 2018) as well as a drug testing form on file with the Middle School in order to practice and play in any school sponsored sport. Stop by the office to pick up a sport physical form if you are planning of going to the doctor.

REMINDERS:

Fall sports pictures are scheduled on the following dates:
August 22, 2018
Middle School Football – 4:30 – 4:45 at the Complex

August 29, 2018
Middle School Volleyball – 3:30 – 3:45 in the High School Gym

All team members should be dressed in game uniforms and prepared at least 10 minutes in advance of the scheduled time. In case of bad weather…pictures will be taken in the gym. Pick up an order form from your coach.

School Pictures are scheduled for Tuesday, August 28th. Order forms will be sent to your language arts class the week of August 20th.

The FCA breakfast will start on Wednesday, August 22nd at 7am. All middle school and high school students are welcome to attend.

Attention 7th and 8th grade students: If you are interested in going on the Washington DC trip, pick up an information packet in the office.
